set lines in channel on way out at 6:30,took first hit in 45fow s of pier.was on silver hoard glo grn ladder bk,27 down on rigger.fish came undone after a few min. second fish came on same plug,same depth and general area,was 8 lb king. rode around a bit,marked 3 fish around 35 down.dropped other rigger down to 32 and about 10 sec.later rigger went with 5lb king on stingray n.b.k. no more action in close for us,could see fish jumping every so often,just wernt biten.trolled out to 110 and back to 60 with out any more hits.was going to take father in law out sun pm but looks like winds are not going to co operate.

launched at 6:10,all ready about 70 boats out by then.set lines at pier hds,headed out on sw troll.noah had it right this time as it was healthy twos at day lite.hit 8lb king in 45fow on dipsy,no ring on3 w grn glo spndctr and grn/glo fly. dad cranked that in and we got our hopes up for some more action. made a couple more passes in close without any hits.ended up in 55,60 fow getting pushed north to point without any more bites.we dont have probe but could mark thrmocln at 35 to 55 down.waves built to big 4s and when one washed the back carpet of 19ft starcraft we pulled lines and headed back to port at 11.saw one guy hit and land fish by himself in channelon way in.hindsite says we should have stayed in close,worked channel.talked to older [than me]gent at lot,he had 4 on jplugs fishing channel out of 14ft mod v.dats fishin,tite lines.

hey mojo dont feel like the lone ranger.it seems that every trip out latley someone comes up behind me and trys taking my stuff.had a boat off grand haven tues do it twice.this was out in 90fow and we were pretty much by ourselves there. im smart enough not to run cores in close or a pack.twice i had to give him a ear full on the radio,got his boat name on way home as we were headed home. guess i should put on my thick skin as its weekend warrior time.tite lines.

headed out of gh tue morning with buddies dave,gary. set lines in 70 fow mile or 2 n of port.marked lots of fish up high on way out,probably should have slowed and seen what they were.rode out to 125,nothing happening for us.took 3lb jack on 1/2 core with 4oz snap wt,50 to brd with a stingray blu glopuke in 90fow.hit 8lb king on stingray n.b.k. on fullcore in 75 fow. put down meat rig behind white fishcatcher off rigger,down 68.it went in 80fow but came undone. hit 5lb coho on full core,nbk setup in 70fow. last fish was 12 lb king on half core and nailer blu dolphin,no wht. tough bite today,some boats saying they are chowing under full moon.might be correct as our bites happened after 930am.3 kings,1 coho landed.headed to ludville on fri.to get dad,brother ken out,hope weather[wind] permits.

took buds chris,dave out of ps,set lines under clear ski at 630 in 70fow, washed baits for about an hr when it clouded up. hit first fish on wht/glo fish catcher and glo/grn fly off rigger at86 down in 95 fow.took second on1/2 core w 4 oz snap wt and 60 to board and stingray n.b.k.3rd fish on rigger,fish cthr/fly setup at 86,was fighting this one and full core with mag. flounder pounder goes,doulble landed. was draggin ace hi splatter bk grn/glo most of morning,changed out to small wndr brd tomic 50 back and set at 76 and this went after being down 10 min. for last salmon of morning.pulled lines about noon,took a sheepy on 1/2 core setup as we were pulling lines.had 2 4 yr olds at 14 lbs, 2 about 8lbs,1 about 5lbs,all kings.never tookn a dipsy hit even though tryed 125 to 225 back.fish taken between 80 to 100 fow w 85 to 95 best.not good enough w this unit to post pics.most fish had 2 to 4 ailwifes in stomach.big fun on the big lake.gotta dumb question:[bound to get a dumb ansewer]why is it when there is only 3 or 4 boats in general area does someone have to climb right behind you instead of cutting the wheel slightly to the side???oh well no eqiup.lost today,tite lines.

i was out of grand haven a few weeks back,fish were deep. ran out full core with nbk stingray,clipped on 40z snap wieght to backing and ran out 6 passes on penn 330,aprox. 60ft. put rod in holder. sat there looking at set up and figured i could gain another 10 ft by lowering line entry. took rubber band looped to backing like you would do to pin a slider and hooked it over a protuding bolt on transom. we took 7lb steely first and 15lb king on this setup. kind of cool , the band gave a twang on the king,woke me and buddy up a little and then snaped.im guessing it added 20,30 ft of depth to core. ive heard of guys adding dive bombs to cores and also running them off there riggers,stealth rigs.havent tryed these set ups . good luck to ya.
