  2. Wow that was some nice fish-erotic you got there. Whats you boat record thru all these years? Thanks for sharing. Kjell
  3. Well i got to test some Stingers then. Too bad we aint got them here. At least not yet.. /Kjell
  4. Hello! What you say is that run a mixture of Northport nailer, DreamWeaver and Silver streaks and they all works good at the same range of speed? And according to Paulywood, the Northern Kings will also work in the same speed range. Good to know what will or might work together, but at the same time have various spoons for all kind of speed and conditions. /Kjell
  5. I wonder do you ever arrange a "Great lakes fisherman member sale" online ? the question goes out to both Siggs Riggs and Pro-Troll and all other advertisers, trolling retailers. Not all of us fishermen are so fortunate that we live close to these "fishermans candy stores". And specially for me, living in Sweden i cant afford buying all the gear i want at a full price, When a package is delivered here i will have to pay 35% VAT and custom fees on total cost (Items price plus shipping cost). There is soo much nice gear i would love to test on the Atlantic salmon. This could be arranged by giving members placing their orders lets say between noon monday to Friday week 52(example only), and writing their user name in the comment field a percentaged rebate. Members only and during one week or one weekend only. It could also be one products category only for example flashers. and or last years model or to promote new models/colours. have you done anything like this earlier? Is this something that our advertisers thinks sounds interesting? What do the rest of the members think? /kjell
  6. ouch, thats why i dont like hard water!!! Condolences to his/hers family. /Kjell
  7. Ok thanks for a good tip Frank! /Kjell
  8. Well i ended up buying 3000yds of 50lb test Power pro. I can fill some of my reels with this line and test it.
  9. I can not give you an answer but i have another question touching the same topic. I have always used mono when trolling dipsies, but for the first time i have been thinking of testing braid. I think i will go for a bulk spool of 1500 or 3000yds power pro, but i have no idea what lb test i should use. What do you all out there use when running Dipsies off braid line? I have been thinking of 40 or 50lb test. /Kjellzen
  10. yes but not only the drag of the engine. When launching my planner boards and downrigger i decrease my trolling speed by one knot. I use a Swedish special designed planer boards called TL-Power planer, these ones create a drag on the planer line close to 30lb. This is planer boards that look alot like Big Jon otter boards.
  11. Thats joes pirate spoons. LOOOOL now i saw that some other members had answered you.
  12. 3" is the smallest ive seen of both J-Plug and Tomic. But theres a Canadian luremaker company named Lyman lures, they make plugs down to 1.5 or 2". Have a look at their plugs here: http://www.lymanlures.com They have some really nice patterns, take well care of the plugs, cause they are made of wood. /Kjell
  13. hehe thats probably what he is hoping for too. Sounds like a nice business man. /Kjell
  14. We try to avoid tangle by using a downrigger cannonball(name doesnt fit this one) that looks like this one and we bend the fin alot to make it pull outwards away from the boat. Two of them bend alot and only minor adjustments to the second two. Works fine for me.
  15. Ahh ok i see. I normally run three rods off each of my downriggers so this technique wont work well along with the way i fish today. But i have to try it and will give you feedback on the results. Another question, i have noticed that all used spoons i have bought in the US comes without the split ring to attach the line to, Dont you use split rings? and why?
  16. First of all, yes i have used the search function and read all posts there is but i still dont understand how you rig a slider on the downrigger. Does any of you have a schematic picture os this rigging? Will it work with mono line ? How many rod do you totally use and how many rods on each downrigger? I also wonder what depths you are fishing at? Another question, i have noticed that all used spoons i have bought in the US comes without the split ring to attach the line to, Dont you use split rings? and why? Thanks in advance. Kjell
