Fished 9am-2pm
Started in 190 went out to 240 and ended in 130. Surface temp was 52-53 everywhere. Took 2 fish in 220's and 1 in 140. 2 shaker kings and a small steelie. Ended up 3 for 10. Most bites in the 220's. 1/2 mile south
Ran 2 riggers with sliders 80-35 down. 5,7 color and 300 copper and 2 dipseys throughout the day. Dipseys were a no go. Sliders took most hits. Copper took 2 hits. 5 color 2 hits. All spoons. Yellow being the best.
-
I did much better on 300 30# than I ever did with core. Unfortunately my 300 turned into 150 and hasn't taken a bite since:confused: Hard to find 30#

Nice!!
Just pulled the boat over for the month of June to chase Erie eyes.

I am part of team Umpqua and unfortunatly we won't be able to make it this year and defend our title. We will be fishing in the u.p. on our annual family trip. Last year was a blast and I wish i could be a part of it again this year. Good luck to everyone entering.
Sorry to lose you guys this year:( Thanks for the heads up!
Post with prizes so far should be up soon:D

To anyone still on the fence for this I'd like to re-mention a few things.
#1 Other than the cost of the lures, 100% of your boat fee goes to B4K.
Team Towels, raffle tickets, signs, misc fees are all donated
#2 If you are interested in meeting fellow addicted fishermen and women this is a great place to do it. I have a phone full of friends to ask for hot tips on the water or riders for a day. I met all of them through events such as these:D Can't tell you how much this has helped me in increasing my catches and enjoyment on the water
#3 For those of you on the competitive side this is the ulimate chance to have a level playing field. You're not competeing against a guy with 4 spoon boxes and a 4 tackle bags. Everyone has the same lures and anyone can claim bragging rights!
#4 Saying it's for the kids gives you a free day fishing pass from the Mrs! No honey do's repayment on the back side

You kicked my butt Phil. I could only manage 3 this morning:search:
-
I'll be out Sat Morning. Launching at 5 am
-
Pulled up to the water plant on my way to the launch this morning at 6:30 and decided to wait for the wind to die down a bit. Matt and his son Chase came out with me and we started putting lines down in 150 at 9am Ended up 12 for 17. 11 kings 1 Ho. Our hot depths were the 130's and 150's. Couldn't buy a bite anywhere else.
Hot rig was Blue dolphin chrome backed SD doctored with weenie UV tape with a blue bubble fly on wire. Took 6 hits. Bites started 70-100 down and ended 50-60 down. We pulled lines at 3:00pm in 1-2 foot rollers Wind and waves settled down around 12-1pm.
Nothing on a board till the last 15 minutes:confused: Ran 5,7, full cores and 300 foot copper.
Here's our damage
-
tried to post the pic but couldn't get it go either
-
looks like fishermans landing:)
Yup first one is from the dreamweaver last year. The land one is actually Sterling state Park over on Erie
-
Hearing everyone on the radio on Friday made me think I have no idea who is who out on the water. I've probably seen most guys and boats at the Caz tourneys just can't put the person and rig together. Anyway figured I'd throw me up here:bye:
Pull vehicle is a dark grey 2500 GMC crewcab
-
I think 4 guys in a 18' boat is more difficult than 10 rods IMHO. If yu want to though I'd run 2 riggers, 4 divers, and 4 planers. I did 9 rods off my 17 pretty regularly
-
Cool talking to you guys on the lake and seeing you at the launch. We ended going 7 for 7 with 2 stand ups and a couple misses on the boards. All kings 8-16lbs. Best water for us was 115-135 on a north troll.
3 fish on wire 1.5 out 150-170 spinnie's and flys
1 on 7 color ghost #4 J
1 on full core ghost #4 J
3 fish on riggers spoons 69,56,45 down
Nothing went deep for us and we ran 100 plus rigger and a wire past 200 most of the evening
-
Most of my life was spent in the metro detroit area but I would guess my number is no more than 100. Never took full advantage of the tremendous fishing in the area. Trying to rectify that in my later years:)
-
the plumkrazy team will be back in portsheldon this weekend
I think I'm going to echo that remark. Time to bring the rig over from the east side:D Hope to see you out there!
-
Started at 7 and ended at 12:30. 5-9 with a laker, coho, and 3 kings. Kings were 10-6lbs,small coho and about 6lb laker.
Water temps were from 54 in the dirty to 47 out in 76 fow. All hits were in 60-76fow 1mile north and south of piers
2 kings and on slide diver out 65. Blue/yellow/silver mag spoon
1 king on Green FC and dark blue fly 45 down on rigger
1 coho on std blue dolphin 22 down rigger
laker on 300 feet 30lb copper green FC white/black fly. Lost a screamer on the same rig. Did a major bird nest letting it out after the screamer and had to pull it
No hits on 2,3,5 or 8 color running thin fins and raps
