  1. King Salmon are starting to run up the rivers in Milwaukee. I hooked up with some, and I caught a few in the harbors before the run. They are so fun to target.
  2. Went after coho salmon out of my little boat in Lake Michigan and actually caught a few. They put up a great fight and they are soooooo delicious! Here's the vid.

  3. I'm not brave enough to take my 17 foot fish and ski boat out into the big lake, but the west winds have kept cool water near shore in Port Washington. I tried jigging some coho up near the mouth of the harbor and it worked! Here's the video.

  4. Went up to Peshtigo River and waded around, chucking a crawfish plastic and found some of the biggest smallmouth I've ever caught. I set a new PB with a 21 inches (I go by length, not weight, but I'm guessing it was over 5 lbs.). It was a great morning of fishing.
  5. Hit up a Lake Michigan Tributary in hopes of finding some huge smallmouth, and I did!

  6. New video is up! I was chasing rainbow trout in my local creek and at the harbor. I got a bite in some ultra clear water when sight fishing. Give it a watch.
  7. A student of mine gave me a fishing lure they made (I teach middle school). I took it to a smaller swampy lake that has pike and bass. The goal was to catch pike and bass. Some big ones were biting!

  8. I love fishing from shore in the Great Lake Tributaries in the fall because the King Salmon run up the rivers and I can catch them casting around with jerkbaits and inline spinners. I got a couple of takers on this trip.
  9. I love fishing the crystal clear waters of the Bark River as it flows out of Lower Nemahbin Lake. It is such a cool stretch of river. I fished it from the spillway down to the next road it runs into. I didn't fish Crooked Lake, though that looks like a cool spot. Found a lot of smallmouth that wanted to bite.
  10. Baby Bluey visited the river to try and make some new friends...

  12. Was fishing for bass and pike, and one of them kept biting, but missing. Also, my son caught a muskie!
  13. Used a variety of baits at the spillway, but only one bait worked. I
  14. Put an absolute beatdown on the largemouth bass on this kayak fishing adventure. My biggest problem was finding a 14 to 15 inches to keep. Everything I was catching was much bigger than that. Here's the video.
  15. Tried a spillway that is hidden under a bridge for anything that would bite. I have to catch different species for a multispecies tournament and found three different fish that helped me out in the tournament. Nothing huge bit, but a lot of fish were biting.
  16. Went muskie fishing with my son in highly pressure lake, and actually got one! They are beautiful fish!
  17. Tried to catch some brook trout in a spring fed creek, then swung by a swampy lake to try and catch pike and pumpkinseed. It was a great day of fishing.
  18. Got two gizzard shad and countless alewife with the Sabiki Rig at the Oak Creek Power Plant. I was really excited to catch those Gizzard Shad! That's a point in the roughfish tournament I wasn't expecting to get.
  19. Got two gizzard shad and countless alewife with the Sabiki Rig at the Oak Creek Power Plant. I was really excited to catch those Gizzard Shad! Then, I used the alewife as bait.
  20. Chasing some more freshwater fish for the tournament I'm in. Went fishing the morning before my last day of work. Only had an hour and a half, but the smallmouth were biting, and a sucker, too. This was on June 7th, so the Milwaukee River was RAGING.
  21. I went to a swampy lake because there are bowfin in there. I was targeting them because I'm in a fishing tournament where the goal is to catch as many different freshwater fish species (non micro) that you can during the month of June. I found three other fish species in there, too. It was a battle to land this fish through the slop, but thankfully, it stayed on the hook in a pile of weeds until I could kayak over to net it.
  22. The school year is over! I'm in a fishing tournament for the whole month of June and my first outing of the month was a smashing success. Multispecies Fishing Tournament - Creek Edition (ep. 1)
  23. I thought this Baby Bluey toy looked like a little bluegill, and apparently the fish did too.
  24. The water is still quite cold in the tributaries, but the smallmouth were biting this weekend. I thought I'd run into brown trout, but instead, the pike and smallmouth bass were hitting spinners and jerk baits.
  25. Tried for trout and pike with spinners and jerk baits. The pike were there, but no trout. Instead, even though it is still pretty cold, I found some good smallmouth that were biting.
