well ive got lots done over the last week tying up lots of loose ends and small stuff.So here is where im at in this project. I have the exhaust ,tilt motor,blower, batteries, new steering,downrigger wires and bilge pump all installed. Last night i repaired the lower unit sceg,and a piece that had been broke off from the tree last summer. I got there tonight and nick installed the auto pilot for me, all i need to do is add a switch and finish running the wires for power. I havent been real good about taking pictures but here are few of the lower unit repairs i did the other night.I hope to drop the motor in this saturday am then put it in the water for a leak test and run next to the dock,then next week put the interior and fishin stuff back on .Then a test run and pilot setup (and if im in the water i may have to fish:grin:)

worked on the boat for an hour or so tonight, was able to mount the batteries,trim pump,swim platform(saturday actually),the exhaust,and one trim tab then had to head home. My new steering will be in this week and i hope to put it in this weekend , then hang the wiring,and put the tramsducers on, then hopefully put the engine in on the 17th:thumb:

I use mono for backer for lead ,the boards dont like braid ,slips out of the release. I break about 6" of lead ,and pull it out ,tie a loose overhand knot and thread my mono into that til its thru the over hand knot then tighten it all down , tuff to tie in the boat tho. jimmy

Thanks Mark I'm hoping to put the engine back in two weeks from now then splash her the first weekend of april.

Worked on the boat tonight, Dave from Advantage Marine Repiar in Zeeland came out and cut the key hole out of my transom for me it turned out great i had exccelent bonding between the two layers of wood! After we got the holes in there i bilge coated the raw wood,let it dry for a while then put the gimble back in the boat:D then I started to lay out where my batteries and trim pump where going to go. Dave also measured up for my new steering and is going to order that tommarow.at least shes going back together!!

Worked hard on the boat this weekend(April is coming fast!):eek: Was able to do my last glass layups and put in the shelves and bulk head:thumb:.I foamed in the floors and pluged those holes, Then i bilge coated everything.While I was doing that a friend came and filled all the holes on the outside of the transom,he filled them then glassed them floated them out and gel coated them ,we should have painted the whole transom but hey the fish will be the only ones to see the imperfections and thats the last thing they will see LOL! Well I had a major case of the f!%# its this weekend so i did not get much done but managed to make the shelves,cut out the bad bulk head and make the new wood for that. Next week i will do one more glass layup and will be done with fiberglass:thumb:! I have a guy lined up to come and fill all the holes on the outside of the hull and re gelcoat it. while he does that i will do my glassing and pull my old steering system out cus I ordered my auto pilot this week Wohoo! Cant wait to get it done!Sorry for the poor pics they came out blury for some reason.

ya me to, it just spins and does not impart any action to whats behind it so dont run a fly behind it ,they use them to attract the fish to the setup then run a spoon behind,Ive been thinkin about tryin one this year to,I have one but did not know how to use it til i saw it on romanacks show.

I worked on the boat last night ,just don't know when to quit i guess,,,, it was 12:22 am when i left the barn But I got the stringers ,the floor and the engine copartement structure done. Now i have 2 shelves and a bulk head to do in a couple of weeks.Also Nick has been busy refinishing the teak on the boat he finished the rails and put them on WOW! looks nice thanks Nick! here some pics.
