  1. i went with andy(2unreel)and liked his tree..youd have to ask him what brand...and figured i would build a launcher with the trees incorporated...also got the ideafrom his dipsey holders just changed it up a little..

I have the Great Lakes Planers rod trees(awsome) and the Berts ratcheting dipsey rod holders. I have fished with Don with his rocket launcher and it works as good if not better then the off the shelf stuff, great job Don. I still think he should have jeweled the whole thing:)

  2. Buying an automobile Gps for a boat is like wearing a bike helmet riding a motorcycle. Yes it will work but when you need it the most it may fail. If you get stuck in a massive rain storm or heavy fog and you need to drive by instrument you need to know that it wont fail.... I would not cheep out on this purchase.

  3. This is a great question Bob. This can be a problem most salmon fisherman face and struggle to find the answer to. Here are a few things to try when trying to locate more than one fish.

    - Talk to the bait shop and get a general knowledge of the depth range people are fishing(not always the best option but can give you a good starting point)

    - Talk to everyone you see at the ramp or on the way out the channel that looks like they were salmon fishing.

    - If you still don't have a clue what depth to start, begin trolling shallow and head west untill you hit fish.

    - Scrape the bottom all the way to the top of the water column until you know what depth they are hanging in.

-TRUST YOUR FISH FINDER, if it found no fish use it to find the fish. Don't fish where there is no other fish.

    - Don't stay in one area too long if you don't get any more hits move on and find more fish. If you caught fish in 100ft don't stay there all day, you might of caught a fish heading deep or moving in shallow.

    - Get a lucky charm...ex: hat, sunglasses, rabbits foot, underwear...etc and stick to it.

    - Go with your gut feeling and don't always follow the other boats out there.

    - Fish the prime times sun up and sun down. Mid day fish can get spotty.

Good luck, I hope this helps

  4. Welcome aboard! I have not rode my dirt bike in quite a few years. I tend to do more salmon fishing than anything. Once you get rigged up I would suggest trying a trip over to the west side here and join us in an outing. I know that a few members and their crew plan on getting together for some fun fishing. Its a great way to zero in on the fish and meet some members.

  5. yup it's true, we got this pic this weekend, while in the tunnel of trees north of petosky...

We went snowmobiling to the bridge from alanson...had a broken machine so called it quits and went snowmobiling in the f350...dually ... Ha ha what a sled that truck can be..

Here's a picture of god blessing the salmon.... Isn't it heavenly...???

  6. I have the info at work but I beleive these are the lights I am getting.

    http://www.soundoffsignal.com/work_lights/wl_par36_500.html

I looked at a lot of them and found several I really like but the 150 and up price ea was killing me one of our suppliers gave me a price on these that is more realistic so my plan is to install a set this winter.

I know a few people that work at sound off.....I might be able to get something custom, I forgot about that thanks.

  7. Cool I am putting a set of LED spreader lights on my boat this winter. I have a set of 55watt halogens right now but they kill the battery when trolling so going to try some LED lights about the same light but only .6 amp draw ea versus 4.3 amps ea.

LEDS would be a nice touch. I originally wanted LEDS but could not find the ones I wanted 8 o'clock on a friday night before going fishing the next morning. I just havent had the need to upgrade yet.
