  1. Couple years ago i setup some lights for those early morning and late nites on the water. Since I don't have an arch or hardtop I improvised. Its nice to have lights up high and out of the way to light up the back of the boat and off the sides for setting divers up. This setup uses a RAM mount originally designed for a gps handlebar mount. The lights are a $20 Autozone special. I can point them anywhere I want if I need light there. When I dont need them I pop them off and ony have alittle rubber ball on the bimini. I ran my wires through the slits for the poles in the top and makes for a nice clean installation. I have also put reflectors on my planers and you can pick up the planers if the waves are nice n calm.

  2. Hey Andy,

What type of Forshner do you use? And what did the recommend for it? My dad and I use the 12 in cimeter model. Dad likes to use a hard Arkansas stone.

    Bob

The model Knife I have is a 40538 the 10" knife. If I was to buy another knife I would get the 12" but it does well. The sharpener does not have a number on it but I remember its what the tech reccomended. Here is a pic of how the tech told me to use the steel. Ultimately you would put the piont of the steel on the table and hold the handle in one hand. Then line up the back of the blade to the short flat edge on the handle to set the angle

  3. I called Forshner and talked to a tech there. I wanted to make sure I got the correct sharpener or steel for my knife. There are many steels to choose from. I told him my model of knife and my application and he gave me the number of the proper steel for my knife. He even told me the correct way to use the steel. It may surprise you. When in doubt go to the manufacturer they are the experts in most cases.

  4. I use the lakemaster chip in my boats lowrance chartplotter, then I use it on the ice with my ifinder hunt witch is the same as the h20. I used it on Muskegon lake ice fishing last year and it was dead nuts. My chartplotter and handheld are b&w. I have also seen it on the color versions and the contour lines do not show as well. It may have been just a setting but I did not care for it in color.

  5. I shoot G5 Montec's and I just throw them on a stone and reuse them. They are buit to last and reuse. I have shot them into trees and they still stay straight. All the deer I have shot they have blown strait through and left a big triangle hole on either side. Massive carnage!:) Thats the only broadhead I trust.

  6. You are not the only one who feels this way.

At one time the classifieds were free. If you sold something you were suppose to make a donation to the website. After over 1.5 years and numerous items beings sold on the website, there was zero donations.

I do not want a website clustered with advertising, so I am not planning on adding any other advertising besides what is at the top.

I use to visit another website. It became so commercialized, I stopped going to it. Their perk for supporting members is that you do not have to view all the ads.

I checked other websites to see what they charge to place an ad. I also know what it costs to place an ad in the boat trader or the newspaper.

I considered making the classifieds a pay per ad. Members would have to pay a small fee each time they wanted to place an ad. I thought everyone would get a bigger bang for their buck by being able to post unlimited amounts of ads in a year, double the gallery size, a larger private message limit, and access to a private area of the website.

vBulletin is coming out with a new version for their software. They will no longer let people pay the $60 annual fee for upgrade support. This means I have to purchase a new license to keep the site up to date and secure.

I am open for ideas and will listen to what others have to say about this.

Here is an idea to suppliment the website..... Get an item like a lure package or down rigger once a month or year whatever. Your sponsors should be able to help with the cost of that. Determine the cost required to run the site. Sell X amount of raffle tickets to make up for that cost and when the quota is met someone gets something nice and the site stays in business. Just an idea.

  7. I seen a guy in South Haven that bought an islander for a $1 and it looked alot like the DOG. He repainted it, repowered, and reupolstered and did all kinds of woodwork. That was a beautifull boat. I would bet that the gentleman that bought yours has something like that in mind, its starting to become a trend. I think what ever boat Terry is on will catch fish........TERRY IS THE MAGNET!! If you have ever seen him Ice Fish that is your proof.

  8. I use the paint missing on my lures to judge weather they catch fish or not. There are lures that don't lose paint and I try to remember witch ones work. To me a lure is like a worm on a hook, you'll loose it occasionally and part of it may come up missing from time to time. Just put a new one on and get er back in the water if its beyond repair.

  9. I have hated the Church boards from Day 1. Why I have 10 of them, I don't know. I don't have an issue with my short cores but my larger ones can get problematic. I will have to give the offshores a try but I really would like to have someone help me build a board specificly designed to run coppers and heavy cores. I just need a foam guy, and a plastic guy willing to build stuff for beer and I am all set. I have a few designs in mind I would love to test.
