  1. Man, that kinda sucks but why not try to meet up with the dude and work something out, I mean, 70 acres and 2 dudes, plenty of room for both to hunt.?!!?

I don't have a ton of land so what I have I hunt the hell out of. I am very scent conscious myself and only have 2 stands on the back of my property and hunt either one on any given day/wind direction.

As long as they don't see, smell, or hear me going in and out I hunt 'em everyday. I do alot more watching then I do killing.

Anyway, my point is, hope something works out for ya bud!

  2. We shall see......

Detroti - Rumors circulating around Michigan about gas stations charging $4 a gallon for gas are false, according to Attorney General Mike Cox's office.

At least one Lansing-area radio station was reporting that there was at least one station charging more than $4 for regular unleaded. There were separate reports that the station was in Lansing or Jackson.

“We are very aware of the rumor of $4-plus gas,†said Nate Bailey, a spokesman for Cox. “We are constantly monitoring prices across the state and have found no evidence of $4 gasoline. But we encourage anyone to call us if they see stations charging $4 or if they feel they are being gouged at the pump.â€

Consumer-operated websites like www.michigangasprices.com do have entries for gasoline as high as $4.45 a gallon in the Bear Lake area. But those prices cannot be independently confirmed.

Bailey said Michiganders can call the AG's consumer protection division at 877-765-8388 or go online to www.michigan.gov/ag. Gov. Jennifer Granholm's office also has an online contact to report suspected gouging at www.michigan.gov/mda. Residents can then click on the Consumer Information box and enter Michigan's Gasoline Corner.

Pump prices in Michigan are averaging $3.10 a gallon. The national average is $3.04, according to Heathrow, Fla.-based AAA.

  3. No way am I taking my woman out fishing with me. I make her stay home and do the dishes, laundry and clean the house. When I get home I have her wash my boat and trailer and clean my fish while im on my butt drinking a beer after a great day on the lake. I like to show her who the boss is. But what I do sometimes for her is, take all my CAZNIK GLOW FLIES and hang them all over the bedroom and with some beer. I give her a romantic night with the Caznik and Id be yelling Cazattack.

    Caznik

    Hmmmm,

    A. This should have been in the Tallest Tales Contest-instant winner

    B. Mailing this quote to the same address I mailed my Dreamweaver Money....... Made out to the Mrs.

    C. To be Continued..........

  4. Great job on the fishin brothers.....

As for the trailer tires..... that sux!

I'm a freak about checking tire pressure......

Sounds to me like you let yours both go low......

(Actually I don't check pressure as often as most, boat trailer tires and truck filled with pure nitrogen)

Truck tires have been at 38 for 4 months straight, trailer at 50 for almost 4 months straight....

Nascar and NASA and commercial airlines use it for a reason.

Look into it and then swing by the shop in GR on 28th and Breton to get yours done too!

  5. To Great Lakes Fisherman that is!, When you get to here, whats your routine? Here's my norm!!

I always bring up the Home Page first, where I look to see who else is online. I also like that New Posts link near the Avatar that brings you right to the Latest and Greatest posts.

After checking out the new posts, I usually got right into the Discussion Forums link (in the Site Navigation right above your avatar) and scroll through there to make sure there are no fresh ones that I haven't seen yet.

From there its usually a toss up between Featured Articles, Pros Connection and Boat Maintenance and Rigging to see if I can put my .02 in anywhere.

If I'm working and can't play around as much, I leave it on the entrance page to the Discussion Forums and just keep refreshing it when I get a chance to watch for new!!!

Of course if I'm fishing, or getting ready to go, I check the Marine Forecasts, and Water Temps using the links on the main bar! (I also borrow the WebCams to try to find some bikini eye candy!!!)

Obviously plucking little bits and pieces from every one of you to achieve my goal of being the ultimate fisherman!

    (Thanks alot by the way)

The FishChat! I never forget the FishChat. If I feel like bs'n, I pop in! If I don't, I don't!

PS! Also kinda looking forward to when the fishing bs'n is over, we got a little itty bitty section about hunting where we can all still hang and shoot the poop until the fishing happens again!!!

  6. I hope they find 'em too, and heard the same report about the soccer ball in Lake Michigan.

I've seen a few in my day. One thing I don't do is p l a y on the boat. Its not a toy and man I stress when I got my family with me. The back of my neck gets tight, head aches like drinkin all night the night before.

My dad use to rent boats for 2.00 a day. Think we weren't out/got caught in a few. They were only 16'ers.(boats that is) St. Clair can have attitude too when it wants to.

Was in one in my uncles boat 21' they called "baby #$^& blue". Had a wave bring us to a complete stop trying to go back in. My brother flew face first into a cooler. Try first aid in rollers. Not gonna quote 'em cuz I was young but they was big rollers. I think he lost a tooth or two but its a little fuzzy.

Huron get's good too when it sneaks up on ya.........

  7. I'm just going to think out loud here for a minute.....

Mike (GLF) knows due to the power of Nextel, I was out there while this was going on. Swarms of boats were running in due to a charter boat captain seeing this storm come up on radar.

It got real ugly, real fast.

Here's how I start to think out loud.

Why wasn't this boat running in also. Obviously had a marine radio. You could see the sky changing. Didn't he turn the radio on until he needed it.

Owner/operator never seen a storm come up on a big lake before? Nobody else seen this boat? Everybody was telling everybody else to run! No body told this guy?

The entire radio/lake community was worried for a blue Lund with 3 guys in it and no radio. Thought for sure when I got up and seen this on the headlines it was this boat/these 3.

  8. Anyone know of a good welder for aluminum on the west side of Michigan? And in the same breath, I have 13 rivets that need repair.

Got a bit of damage to the hull of my boat from our trip up north. Insurance adjuster is inspecting it in the morning and I need a reccomendation on who is good at welding aluminum. The weld would be a temp fix as I bent a couple of aluminum stringers to boot.

    Dang rocks!!

    Mark

    Um, Mark.....

Remember when we were talking today about getting together someday and beating up on these fish....????

You think this will be fixed by then....???? ;)

    Tim
