  1. You play with the bull, you're going to get the horns. Too bad for his wife and kids.

My point is though, he wasn't playing with the bulls he knows and loves....

I mean I'm sure they researched Stingrays before they went out and played with them, but obviously no one knew about the pressures a Stingray must feel when you swim over them with a cameraman pressuring from another angle.......

I've been in cars all my life, I'm not going to start building jet planes tomorrow.........

    Ya know what I mean?????

  2. Talk about a frigging zoo this morning.

Got out later then I wanted, broke some schtuff (Not Convectors) Caught some fish, had some fun.

We put in about 6:00am and there was 1 leaving (solo) with his limit of kings.

Muskegon Lake had a tourney going on, I suspect Walleye or Bass or something-whipping at the entrance to the channel. Boats thick as thieves in the channel and when I got to the pierheads, I thought I was back in Ludington. Crazy numbers of boats.

We stayed busy. If it wasn't fixing, it was replacing, or resetting.

Broke a NBK of a 1/2 core running right down the shoot first thing.

Lost a Dipsey/Spin Doctor/Fly off a wire line. (don't ask me how) Line was clean cut broke off. Lost the final SD/Fly when my leader broke about in 1/2 from what I can tell.

Everything worked though, took rips on Wire Dipseys, Lead core (which shut down once I put the boards in the water was doing great with just 1 down the middle, and riggers went off together with a laker double to end the day.

Only went 3 for 5 but had fun doing it. When I finally realized what time it was, had to go. Obviously probably would have done better if I was there on time!

Had everything between 20 and 70 covered and they all did something at one point or another. Went out to 120 and back right in front of the piers.

    Peace!

  3. Welcome to Great Lakes Fisherman Mike!

By any chance did you have a radio on / hear anybody else chattin about what they were catchin them on?

    Were you running J-plugs/riggers only?

Do you have some spoons, and maybe some SpinDoctor/Fly combos?

The only tips/help I have for Grand Haven is be careful and watchout for everybody else!

My point is, tell these guys a little more about what your running there and they'll help dial you in.

    2 riggers, 3 riggers, 4 riggers,.....

    Rod Holders......

    Trolling speed.....

    etc.etc.etc.

  4. Got my Ludville fix finally.

Got to the ramp at 4:45. Every dock was full and we were 5th in line to launch. (as expected)

Ran north to the point and fished 90-120ft of water. With a north wind staring us in the face made for an interesting ride to the shelf. Fished in 3's all morning with 3-5's showing up around the point of course.

Ran 4 riggers, 4 Dipseys and a Full Core down the pipe Riggers slept all day!

Winners were Wire and Superline divers with F/C Fly's. Tuxedo and Blue Bubble did their jobs at 80-120 back.

The Full core and Wonderbread stayed busy too.

Ended up 7-11 with the only one under 15lbs being a Steelhead at about 8lbs! (and yes, his scale seem to work better then mine :) )

North/South troll was the feeling of the morning with ALOT of boats there.

Had a blast cuz I brought in both the 20's 1 on a core and 1 on a diver wrapped in core....lol.. fish were dark and only 1 full of eggs!

  5. Once you have shot a Mathews, you will never shoot another bow.

Mike and I have already chatted about this live, but I'm going to put .02 in here for all bowhunters to see.

    Opinions vary.

When purchasing a bow, its best to pull every brand of Bow that particular dealer has and see which one feels best to YOU. For the sake of fun, have them blindfold you so your not a victim of "NAME" pressure.

When I bought mine, I didn't know Mathews, from Hoyt, from Bear, from etc etc etc. so they were putting them into my hands and I was pulling them and Landed myself on a Pearson 440 One. Turns out, it was the quietest bow produced in that year. I'm still shooting this bow today. I have a 30" draw and the Bow is a 29" draw setup with a 1" over draw- I like the overdraw myself-Mike

My sight is a Trophy Ridge Matrix- I like it like no other. I only use the top pin of a 3 pin site. Obviously 20, 30, and 40 yd pins respectively.

As for the rest, I asked about the whisker biscuit previously and don't think I like the idea either. I did find a 3 point arrow rest that I think I'm going to check out by newarchery. The Quiktune 360 Capture Rest.
