  1. Now those are some nice perch. There were  20 boats out mid morning; from pier south. Over a dozen at or around the rock pile a mile south. At least couple  dozen  trailers at the launch.

All 5 docks at the launch are above water, but you have to wade thru a few inches of water on the aprons to  use the 3 western docks. The eastern  2 are usually completely dry.

The fish cleaning station is still open. Has 2 tables with disposer and 4 stations at each table.

  2. Great.

    Thanks for update there too.

Maybe I should start perch fishing this time of the yr for a month or so until we hit Manistee or Frankfort in August. Used to fish Erie June n half July for eyes, but now that we're in SoHa a long haul there. When perchin I would actually see what my anchor looks like. Lol.

Never have a need to open the anchor hatch. Need to check the chain and rope.

  3. Good job.

I thought that might be you.
I wasn’t that close to you. Gave you plenty of room. Lol.

I assume you were bouncing off the bottom for lakers in that 85’ of water area.

Have never caught a brown here. Caught 3 quite a few years In St Joe.

We decided to go deeper to see if a few kings may be still hanging around and maybe catch a steelie or 2.

  4. Just 1 for 1; at 9:30 in 109’ a steelhead on mag Moonshine Happy Meal on dipsey on 3 out 160’.
Went in to 84’ and then back out to 150. No other hits. Had 8 lines out: 200 & 300 Cu; 4 3/4 n 10 colors, 2 dipseys and 2 riggers.

    Waves 1-2s n down to 1s; SOG 2.3 to 3.2.

Guy at fish cleaning got only 1 king at 8:30.

    Nice day on the water.

  5. There were a few guys fishing in about 70’ and not sure if they were fishing for lakers or what.
There weren’t that many trailers in the parking lot and we were the only ones at the fish cleaning station.

I would set lines in about 60’ straight out from piers and angle out SW and then NW until you find some. When we got our first king in 135’ we stayed in the area until they shut down and then went out deeper.

    Good luck.

  6. 3 for 4; 9:30 In 109fow 8 lb laker on CJKing Ghostbuster spoon on 300copper; 10:30 16 lb king on dipsey on 3 out 160’ on jagger bomb spoon; 10:45 15lb king on rigger slider on RV Moonshine Flounder Pounder with main line down 48’; lost laker on 200 copper.

Went out to 145’ but no hits.

    1-3s; SOG 2.4 -3.2.

  7. Mega Byte: Water wasn’t bad; kind of a light brownish green. Perfect for holding temperature, bait fish and fish. In addition to some schools of kings n lakers we marked some decent bait balls in that 55’ water also. Some boats were fishing farther out at the edge of the cleaner water, but have no idea how they did.

May be out again Sunday and/or next Tuesday or Wednesday in the same area.
