Have you ever heard of the "color plume" area fishing in SoHa?

Yeah it's going to blow all week n Sat looks good so planning on a crew for SoHa then.

City Eng, Larry, n Harbormaster, Kate, verified that docks and temp road are in. Don't want to fight crowds on water n launch at Bentin Harbor DNR launch. Heard it was bad Sat/Sun.

R the docks in yet at the city launch and have they made an access road around the sewer construction? As of 10 days ago they were not!

My neighbor was out yesterday n today.

No report for today.

Yesterday as of around 3pm, 9 coho, 1 brown n a12# king!

He got the king near the chalets on Jager Bomb spoon on 2 colors of leadcore! Aweful early for a king. Must have been hanging at Cooke and came cruising north for a while. We've gotten small lakers there past few years this time of yr but no kings.

Most of the fish came around the Cooke plant and south. Surf temp was 48-51.7. Perfect  water for Coho n kings.

Trying to take teacher friend on break out this week but blow all week until Sat.

Yep it is so nice at launch n in the lake on weekdays.

I have a list of retiree mates for during the week and worker bees for weekends ; but try to minimize weekends.

Yeah, when wind started picking up around 1230, that was our last hit at the chalets.

Glad u got some on the way back. Got one between the water plant n concrete wall, other 3 between concrete wall n chalets. Working 20-27 fow.

After we got out of 43-44 degree water from pier head mudline, temp was pretty consistent 41-42 all the way to chalets.

You fish St Joe n SoHa a lot like I do.

When my oldest son's family/rental house is not rented we usually spent a few days each week in SoHa. So we could hook up then or other times. My cousin is retired n he lives in SoHa and he goes with me a lot.

But, as u know, there are many times when you can't get a crew together.

My previous was like Eleanor, 1675 Smokecraft with 40 Honda 4 stroke.

Nice, looks a lot bigger than 16', nice rig!

What kind of boat do you have?mine is 21' Grady White with cutty;,The Reel  Woman.

We launched around 8 n retrieved around 145 or so!

Set lines from pier head mud and trolled south passed chalets, about 7 miles;  worked usual 27-20' in an out. 

Got  two on smurf spoon; once on 75' copper and then put it on side with 1/2oz weight.

Other two on thin body baits listed above.  Distance lines were out behind bid board was around 55' for all.

Nice day, mostly sunny, 1-2s.

Heard couple reports at launch; 2 guys got limit on mostly jointed rapalas; by chalets by us - we got none on them; another boat down at Cooke plant limited out.

Yep, 4 is ideal, but we almost always just fish with 3.

1H14X Thanks, When we have 3 in the boat guy steering boat keeping fish in center knows he has to hand line the long leaded dipseys line into the net. Its especially fun when you have flashers and meat rigs which add another 4' or 5' of length.

I always emptied filter in the fall, put new dry filter on in the spring, squeeze primer bulb until stiff and she starts right up 

Easy to winterize: ran gas out of system, drained the above filter and drained engine gas vaporizer (per manual), fogged cylinders and Stabil in gas tank.

Last fall had oil and lower unit oil changed by marina so had them winterize it at the same time. 

Should have said I have 130HP Honda 4 stoke outboard not an I/O which may require a lot more cranking! 

Just changed out my fuel/water separator filter  on my boat and it was full of gas. Marina winterized my boat for the first time last fall.

When I winterized it I would always drain gas n water from the filter.

Haven't had a chance to call marina  today.

No, don't think so; a lot like Gander Mtn, Cabelas n Dicks.

But, D & R Sports is just a few miles from there; take M43 west out of town (131 Exit 38) west about 3 miles west of 131 on north side.

They have all kinds of live bait and great tackle.

Just picked up grandkids in Lazoo n finally had a chace to stop there (BL94 just east next to Costco, can see it from 131 North).

Good fishing n hunting depts.

Has quite a bit of salmon and walleye stuff. Been to the one by Oakland Mall but the Kazoo one is better.

Bought 10 colors of Suffix lead on clearance for $12 and some nice boxes for spoons. 

Yeah last summer our Jackson store size increased like 6 times bigger then the old store and has a decent fishing dept n now they r closing. I'm bummed!!!!
