  1. Man this was a trick but hear is what I came up with, I tried not to get the dates to close to each other and not on holiday weekends. May 2 South Haven May 23 South Haven June 20 Holland July 11 South Haven August 8 Holland This is the big question, would you like August 29 or September 12 ? In the event of bad weather the blow dates will be the following Sunday. The last date for Holland will be determined by your input.
  2. Ok, its nearly unanimous . With that said number 2 it is.I will have the schedule posted later today.
  3. Ok, as I try to figure out a schedule with all the other tournaments going on and peek fishing times for both port Im brought to this question. OPTION 1: Do we have all 3 schedule for South Haven from late April to mid June , and the last three in Holland from early July to early September. Spaced so there's one every month in Holland. And 2 in south haven in May and 1 in June. This was I was thinking of. OPTION 2: Or, do the first 2 in late April or late May, go to Holland for June, back to South haven for July and them finish with the last 2 in Holland, This was a thought by one of the new local sponcers for this season. Please respond with option 1 or 2.
  4. I Beleive so Frank , it's at the Birch Run Expo Center.
  5. I know the Fish Sniffer and my self will be In burch run that weekend for the flint area Steelheaders anual Boat, Sportfishing and Travel show , sorry I was hoping to make this but it's not possable.
  6. Sorry I forgot to answer your question on starting in South Haven Ken. Im thinking of scheduling the first 3 there and the last 3 in Holland. Any other ideas.
  7. Yes that is correct. A 18lb laker would be equal to a 8lb fish of any other species. Nick this is correct, there were few people that expressed a concern that made a valid point. Remember, this is a fun tourney to meet new people, not to cash a check. Yes Jake is fine as long as he is not mating this season.
  8. Ok after reading thru all the input , and thanks to all that did, this is what I came up with. As you have noticed I did not change the blow date statement, I think to make this some what fair to some , this should be placed back in. And be the following Sunday, If I don't hear any controversy on that I will add it to the Schedule and remove the no blow date in the rules. • Shot gun at 6 am , all boats need to be with in 1/4 mile of the pier heads and pull lines at Noon • Weight in 1pm at the fish cleaning station • We will fish predicted seas of 1-3' or less. (or game day call) • If small craft advisories are in effect we, will not fish. • I would like to encourage reports posted from teams after the events. Communications encouraged on channel 72. Keep it clean for this is a family oriented event. 1. Max of 9 rods in the water at one time. 2. Tourney Fees. 25 dollars for tourney, 5 dollars for big fish. 3. Tourney Pay Outs will be on 20 boats or less a. 1st place 50% b. 2nd Place 30% c. 3rd Place 20% i. 20+ boats = pay down 4 boats 40%,25%,20%, 15% d. Tiebreaker will be biggest fish. e. Big fish is winner takes all of big fish money. 4. weigh your best 5 fish with 10 points per fish and no points for lake trout 5. Max of 3 person limit per boat may be kept. 6. Money is due at weigh-in. Gentleman's honor to pay. Please pay if you are signed up. If you are having issues please contact me. So that I know not to look for you at the scale. 7. Start out of the same port as the weigh in. 8. If two members are fishing together, than the boat they are fishing out of gets the point. 9. Follow all other State and Federal Laws. The captain is responsible for his crew. Keep it safe. 10. Blow date will be the following day. 11. No charter Capt. and or current first mates. 12. You do NOT need to fish all events to partake in this league. This is going to be a multi port league with it being Holland and South Haven. "Look for date schedule in a few weeks". We will fish 3 dates out of each port and there will be a trophy awarded to the season points champion. The season points champ will be the team with the best three scores at the end of the season regardless of port fished. That being said , the more of these you fish the better chance you have. Ok if there any issues lets hear them.
  9. Thanks for the words of wisdom Nick , greatly appreciated.
  10. Thanks for your input Tom , I will look into all of these , I really like all the points and reason. With that said , I will try to get a list of rules set up this weekend , probly two or three options and put it up to vote, reson being is I would like evey one that plans on fishing this season to be a happy as possable.
  11. Also a set of dated and start times.
  12. Ok , lots of good ideas, keep them coming , later this week I will make a set of rule and post them on hear.
  13. Just the capt of the tangled mess if I rember correctly , I could be wrong.
  14. Ok , hears another question , what's every ones thought on charter capt. Fishing this. The way it was back in the day they were not aloud , but the past few years that had been removed , would anyone like that reinstated?
  15. Yes , as in no more than 3 trout of any speices , example ,3 steelhead , 1 lake trout 1 browm 1 steelhead , or 2 lake trout and a steelhead , all examples of three trout , the other 2 must be salmon , or you could weigh all 5 as salmon, and get 10 points per fish max. Points is 50.
  16. I'm thinking catch 15, weigh your best 1 man leagle DNR Limet with all fish worth 10 point per fish. This way people would not be out strictly fishing for lake trout.
  17. How abou makeing it weigh 5 fish but weigh a 1 person DNR Limet , as in now more than 3 trout or five salmon.
  18. Yes , these are one Saturday a month and you can fish as many as you wish. But to compete for the end of the season points championship you need to fish. At least 3.
  19. How about you team Killin it. You guys have fished the past number of years, lets hear your input.
  20. Ok , what is everyone's input on boundaries that one should stay with in?
  21. So, if this is switched to a multi port, I will add one more event so there is 3 in each port . So that it stays fair to the slipped boats that want to fish it.
  22. How about some input from a few others that fished last season like Any minute , paulywood and jdh?
  23. This would be line up with in 1/4 mile north or south of the peirS so that you would not be influenced much by other boats , your boat is one of the larger in the group today so it would be safe.
  24. You hit all the points im looking at Jim and all the reasons im looking at them. Thanks for the input to all that have commented , please keep them coming.
  25. That is a very good point on doing a few in South Haven , I really like the idea and will check into this.
