  1. Hey Steve,

    Happy 50th!

Thanks Rick, don't feel a day over 49.:D

    Rich

Do you have a charcoal or electric? The book said start with 10 to 15 lbs of coal, thats just seems like a lot to me.

  2. Well the wife and kids decided I needed a new Brinkman Smoker for my birthday. I think there is a turkey still in the freezer, it will have to be the first victem :D . Anybody have a good recipe for turkey, I thinks it's about 12 lbs.

  3. I called to verify this was a legit post. It is legit, this is why I did not remove it.

I recivied an email yesterday that they will be sending me 2 free lures to try, all they want is some feedback on how they preformed.

  4. Saw a hen tonight with 7 little ones, about 8" tall and they all flew off from the road. I think yotes cause more problems by killing hens that are setting. Had a hen last year that I was keeping an eye on, she had a dozen eggs in her nest and something killed her and all the eggs were destroyed too.

  5. I tried it a long time ago and figured it wasn't worth it, the deer ignoored it untill mid December. I had a small amont of carrots and ear corn along with a half bale of hay, made 2 piles like this in 2 different locations, the deer knew it was there but waited untill the farm crops were all harvesyed and the remains buried under the snow before they came to the bait and pawed it up and ate it. I remember one nite setting there with the muzzle loader and just before dark 70 deer crossed the fence onto my 2 1/2 acre corn stubble to feed on the bait and corn that was missed by the picker, didn't dare blink with that many sets of eyeballs looking around with some as close as 5 yards. It was a heck of rush having that many deer to watch even though they were all smooth headed as far as I could tell.

  6. Have a guy tring to sell me a 10hp Johnson outboard as a kicker for 22ft Islander.. Forward and reverse both work, pull start, water pump seems to be working ok, not sure of the year. I am guessing mid 60's but not sure. He wants $150.00 for it, is it worth it.

Another ? can anyone tell me how far down on the transome I need to mount the kicker mount. It's an OMC with the assist on it. The boat is a 1979 22ft Starcraft Islander, if I remember right the water comes allmost to the top of the outdrive but not sure. Thanks

  7. One thing to add. I opened up the stomachs on the 3 fish I brought home and all 3 were full of alwives, hope thats a good sign as far as the bait fish go. This was the first time this I found anything in their bellys this year.

Here is Catfishhoge at the weigh in weighing his fish. He went from 2nd place to 4th place in points.

Don't rub it in Rich, we have had a couple rough slow days so look out for the next one. That black and white kitty last month realy hurt.

  8. Got to say Thanks to Rick (catfishoge) for taking me along. The fish didn't want to cooperate early for us, I think it was close to 8:00 before we had any bites. Then we had a little flurry before things went dead again. The *^*** biting flies, wish I had some insect spray. Thanks for the ride over Nick, don't let Caz give ya to much grif over farming cuz if he would sharpen his hooks the fish would stay stuck. Congrates to Sara C and the rest of the boats that placed.

  9. Hey Nick,

Just next time you do not take Huntingfool with you. He turned you into a farmer Saturday.

    Rich

Rich I think you are a little confused. Seems Nick knows Farmer Larry

(Rat city hooker), the number 1 fish farmer on the water LOL Larry has been giving the boy lessons on his long distance release techique. Either that or you need to sharpen your hooks again, when the tip of the hook is bent over that is bad it should come to a sharp point.:D :D

  10. I used a Remington 870 Wing Master in 12 gauge with slug barrle for years. After 2 neck operations the doctor told me no more heavy recoil type shooting so I now use a Thompkin Center Black Diamomd in 50 cal. Have to get a new scope, knocked the cross hairs out of the old one.

  11. Taking a 40 yard shot, not on a bet. In my opinion there are to many variables that can go wrong on a long shot like that. At that distance it gives the deer more of a chance to jump, wind drift, a small twig, like I said too many ways to make a bad hit and loose and animal. Thirty yards is as far as I will shoot, and I use a crossbow and acorrding to some are more accurate and easyer to to shoot.

  12. Another great day on the water. Nice meeting ya Nick and any time you need a ride just let me know. I think tossing Wayne over the side came up when we found out he read the GPS wrong but hay I got a nice nap and we finally did catch some perch. Still would like to know who the morons were on the jet skis and the big boat that stirred things up and sent waves right into the back of our boat, hadden't planed on a bath. Good thin the bilge pump works. LOL

  13. Welcome to the site Molbychromer. If you want to fish some tourneys, check out the West Michigan Leauge events. They are a good time and run by Caz, one of the Moderators on the site. The St Joe boys also run one to, lots of fun. They are not big money events, just a bunch of guys getting together and doing what they like to do and thats chasing fish on the big lake.
