  1. Went out of linwood beach yesterday also, my first time ever fishing the bay. I think we started to far out 18-20 fow. Ended up with catching 18 with 5 keepers in about 5 hours fishing, so I think we did pretty good, also the first time trolling for walleye. Very excited to get back for another try. 2. We only have a couple 300' copper setups right now so have not run multiple coppers on one side of the boat yet but have run a 300' copper and multiple lead cores together without any issues. We have run the 300' copper with a large paddle and meat rig on it on the church walleye boards and it tracks without any issues. Did you shift the weight forward on the bottom of the chuch boards? Might not be biting in enough on the front to track outward. Good luck and post back if you get it figured out. Good Fishing, Troy
  3. Sure does look nice all polished up, the stickers look sweet too!! Good Fishing, Troy
  4. Congrats on the completion of your project Jim, You did an awesome job of documenting your project on this thread. Good Fishing, Troy
  5. Matt, Nice job, what a simple set up to get consistent length on all your stingers. Thanks for posting Good Fishing, Troy
  6. I would run as floorboy stated the coppers on 1 side full core on the other side
  7. Frank, Thanks for invite.. that would be awesome. I'll pm you Troy
  8. Frank, I thought that might be the case but wasn't sure. I'm hoping to have but boat rigged up to go out on the bay this year need to get some rod holders and I'll be ready to roll!! Thanks for the reply. Good Fishing, Troy
  9. Adam, I was in total awe!!! Unbelievable how many fish that were caught on last Thursday to say I was impressed would be an understatement. Does the river always hold good numbers year round or is this year special because of the wild winter we have had? If everyting comes together i am hoping to come back over Thursday or Friday. Good Fishing, Troy
  10. Frank, Thanks for the info, hope to get back next week if conditions allow. We could see the water level was up at the dock when we lauched just suprised fast it changed in less than 12 hours Good Fishing, Troy
  11. Just made my first trip to the saginaw yesterday. It was also the first time for a couple of us Jigging for walleye, with 4 of us fishing we boated somewhere upwards of 120 to get 9 keepers and probably saw 800 or more being sought "UNBELIEVABLE" We went back today but got started about 9 as we had about 2hr drive. We fished about 3-4 hours and never saw one fish caught tried from the creek/bridge at 13 (forgot the name) and the tittabawasee. My how much of a difference 1 day can make with the run off making it down alot of grass and wood and very muddy Can't complain, will hopefully be able to get back before it closes hopefully it will clear by later next week Good Fishing, Troy
  12. Jim, I just have to tell ya I have had to check on this every time I'm on the site to watch your progress. You have done some very high quality work, awesome job!! The finish line is just ahead don't let up HAHA!! Good Fishing, Troy
  13. we run a 10 color lead core outside of a 300' copper all the time with no issues but that is all we have for copper at this time is a pair of 300's run 1 on each side. I would start the day with 2 riggers 2 divers and 2 birds in tight first thing in the morning and then mix it up a little according to what is taking the fish sometimes riggers are hot sometimes divers or the long lines Good Fishing Troy
  14. Awesome job Jim, Great pics to go along with the great work you're doing. You might not want to do another one, but I'm sure there won't be anyway to beat the satisfaction you will feel when you get out on the water this year. Can't wait for pics of the finished project. Good Fishing Troy
  15. I am not 100% percent sure as I don't have one myself but I think the dive curves for mono, braid, and wire dipseys are in the Precision Trolling Manuals. good fishing, Troy
  16. Well I was finally able to make it out yesterday 1-14-12 and give my new lowrance a try. Fishing was very slow with the front that came through at the end of the week. Did mark a few fish but they seemed to be inactive making hard to adjust / tune in a brand new piece of equipment. Happy so far with a few more trips out im sure I will get it dialed in. good fishing, Troy
  17. I have been looking at purchasing a new unit for my boat and when I was at jays a few weeks ago found out that the lowrance hds5 I have been looking at could also be used as a portable ice flasher with an accessory ice kit. That made my decision final as along with the flasher i will have the gps to mark locations and the lake maps for bigger lakes for getting close to depth without having to search around. The best bang for buck for me, I will be able to use it all year round. Going to pick it up this weekend I'll give you an update as soon as we get some good ice in my area. Good Fishing, Troy
