frist of all thks to number guy for telling me about the ice on musk he was right so we fished snug harbor in morn not much happing bunch of little guys did manage half dozen nice perch had lunch and went heratage landing threw out some tip ups missed to flags kept seeing big fish come in on vexlar so started jigging a jiging rap after a few misses did manage one eye not bad for frist time trying. sun fished the grand in morn went 1 for 3 in a couple hours still the same bobbers and egg flies mostly winter fish still waiting on some freash fish soon i hpoe 6th stret is wadeable for people that are strong waders but please be carful spring is getting closer yeah

gonna give the steelhead a break this weekend heading to muskegon lake to try for some walleyes never tried for them threw the ice looking for advice on a couple go to lures to use many options out there dont want to buy the whole store to find somthing that works any advice would be great thanks

fished muskegon lake this morn with a my best friend neve ice fished it so we started in snug harbor not much is happing there a few little perch and gills checked out 2nd street they were getting a few eyes and pike buddie was cold so we went to heritage landing threw out some tips sat in cargot my buddie his frist pike on a tip up.have a better plan for next sat always check to make sure your finder is charged lol save some frustration

the river finally cleared of ice for a couple of days fishing hasnt been as good as i thought it would be after the high water but there are some fish to be had the water has some nice color to it bobbers and egg flies have been working fine love the new uv yarn.have a question anybody familar with american tackle rod blanks in the matrix series looking for any input

fished for a couple hours sat went 3for 3 and sun for a couple hours went 1 for 1 all the fish came on the the new uv yarn fish in a egg patern under a bobber dont know if its just luck or what but that uv yarn is making a beleiver out of me mylast 7 fish have come using it,starting to see some new fish show up and i was fishing 6th street will post pics later

i know about the u v stuff on the big lake but was reluctant to try the yarn but i did and it produced 2 fish this late morn on it caught frist one switched to no uv, nothing,put the uv back on 4 drifts through where i just spent 45 minutes going through the same run another sivler fish im convinced the water was a little colored i was using a bobber and only fished 2 hours not bad for a short morn

took out my best friend and his daughter it was slower than the last two days but she managed to get her first 2 winter steelhead always fun watching the younge ones the smile is priceless the water has come up and has a little color to it which is nice

fished a few hours this morn 0for3 one swing and a miss,one break offand one lost do to the chubbey checker twist that do in cold water.the one thing that has been consisint is that my last 2 trip they bit before light 6 bites before light 0 afterwords and fished until 11 tried spawn and nightcrawlers but what they wanted was waxies and the corkie also a little longer leader

went on my yearly winter steelhead trip went with greg from getting bit guide service would recomend him to anybody looking to catch some steel very nice guy and knowledgable we went 11 for 14 in a 6 hour trip very fun on the muskegon rive spawn and floats happy new year to all:thumb:

not much to report fishing has been hit or miss ice has stsrted to flow down the the river it is jamed up at ann st. so 6th is still fishable fishing a charter on the 2nd eathier on the grand or muskegon looks like muskegon though with the ice on the grand have a safe new year

jimbobber is right ive had to drop down to 6lb also if the water you are fishing is clear down size your offerrig also waxiworms or nightcrawlers have really producing most of my fish lately,keep switching it up til u find what they want and that changes from day to day like michigan weather good luck

went 3 for 5 this morn with this nice 15.5lbs male that really put on a show they wanted nightcrawlers today fished the 2 prior days without a bite thats winter steelheading

fished this morn for a little bit not much going on doesnt seem to be many fish around right now that winter steelheading here today gone tommorow gonna try bouncing some jigs for walleye tommorow hopefully it will produce will let you know how i do
