Hey watch it there pal..
Used the light box on a trip out to St Joe this past weekend and it worked pretty well. I still gave the lures a quick does of light from the spreader lights before they hit the water just for the hell of it but the light box will stay on the boat for keeps. It will also give me a place to store more of my glow lures.
Looks good! Let us know how it works. Just make sure you come "out of the closet" -
I also intend to do some backing off of the throttle when in my boat. I would usually run at or near full throttle when the conditions permit. After I get her up on a good plane I will hold it there and should experience some similar effects!
Good driving everyone!
Rick
Last spring I added some trim tabs to my boat (Smart Tabs) to get the bow down and get on plane easier. After getting them installed, shifting some weight around and dialing them in they work great. The company that sells these tabs boasts of more economical running cost in relation to fuel usage and I've already noticed the difference, not to mention a better ride in rougher weather. I also ugraded the ignition system.
If this doesnt work I'll have to install a steam engine and haul a coal barge behind me.

Started out with your average everyday ordinary POS plastic tool box that was lying around.
9" x 9" x 18"
A little white vinyl paint on the insides for El Maxo Reflecto and badabing I have a light box.
To hang the lures I sheathed 1/4" allthread with 1/4" surgical tubing and placed cap nuts on the ends after running them through the sides of the box . It seems to hook the barbs in nice and hold them in place. The light source came from Cabela's it has a dual function white florescent and black light. I'm not sure how bright it will charge the lures yet but after 30 bones for supplies I hope better that the average $14.95 120v blacklight that I could plug into my inverter. We'll see.. I think theres also enough room for a couple of 8 or 11" flashers

Hopefully fast enough to catch a fish but slow enough to catch a buzzzzzzz

another thing for those with I/O's. There are alot of different ways to change the oil. The best I've seen is a valve where the drain plug goes and hook up one of those drill motor operated pumps to it. All the same, if you line a beer or soda box (the cardboard box type not the cartons) with a trashbag (just slip the box inside the bag) and fill it about half full with kitty litter or shop floor sweep it works great to catch your old oil. Just tie it up and slide it out when the oil is drained and dispose of it in a responsible manner... I use the farmers field out back, J/K... works like a charm.

I go by oil color. When it's not clear, time to change the oil and the filter. Once in the spring and then usually about july is what it usually comes to. Then dump it for the winter and refill in the spring with another new filter.

I can garauntee that every fish that is caught and released (no matter how much care is taken to preserve it's life) will die!!

I know of someone who could make a set of rocket launchers. I'm sure he'd make you a smokin deal...

I've used the spot light and my spreader lights while setting up before daybreak. UV lights work better. Cabela's has one in they're Sale catalog that just came out for $14.99. Such a deal...

I been thinking about trying JB weld or some kind of gas tank leak stuff. Can someone help me out here, I like to get this leak fixed
Just get a bigger bilge pump and slap some duct tape on the gash.
Seems to work great from what I hear...

I would take a sample of that gas and check the smell. If it smell varnishy then syphone and replace. Otherwise if it still smells like good gas, and the tank is not full full, then fill her up with fresh gas a bottle or two of dry gas and let her rip.
Good Luck.

I agree. If it's an I/O and the gas smells like gas, add a double dose of Sea Foam, fill er up and blast that old gas through the tubes. I usually do that the on the river every spring in my boat just to clean her up before doing any real fishing on the lake. I had gas sit for many years and there was no problem running it through.

One other thing. Remove the hardware that you can and mask what you cant remove. When you get that metalic residue on your buffing pad it will just go into your work and need to be redone. One other thing I can suggest. Whistle a happy tune, it may go faster....

Oh Crap!!!!! I forgot to get my 09 registration.. Going out won't be a problem but I'll need some cover on the way in....

22' Slickcraft 350 cid OMC. Never kept track. Maybe 400 gal. give or take.

I had mine done a few weeks ago. Very laborous and can get expensive too. If you want to give it a try your self try 3M rubbing compound followed by Finessitt II Also by 3M. Take a disc buffer and buff it out with the compound, follow up with the Finessit, then go over it good with a sealing wax. Should last a couple seasons.
