I hate to dwell on this but I was going to order two double rod holders and was hoping to get them from Lord of the riggers but the website is still down. I see he has some on ebay. Anyone know when he might be back up and running???
He is suppose to be back from vacation. I just emailed Tony, and asked him whats going on with his store.

Wow! Great story. Did you play the lotto afterwards?
-
You will get a lot of different answers on this.
I generally run around 2.5 - 2.7 for a down speed.

That must have been challenging trying to "lip" a big king like that. It must have really tore up your thumb with all of those teeth.

Nice job!

People mostly use braided line for dipsey divers and for backings on lead core. I would recommend 20lb mono.
I prefer Big Jon's. There warranty is second to none! I upgraded to the Brutes this year from their Protournaments. I would not recommend the Brutes for someone who is just getting into salmon fishing. I have my old riggers for sale here.

the boards are 2 x 10, not sure of the actual width.
OK....Roughly 30" then. That one looks like its hanging over both sides by 3 or 4 inches. WOW!

We took our time leaving Fishermans Landing on Sunday, and motoring to where we were going to fish. At 6AM, we were the pier heads and started setting lines.
I was just getting ready to set the 5th line, when the center downrigger with a NITRO Citrus fired. I grabbbed the rod, and after a short battle, we boxed our first fish, a 13lb king. As soon as this fish was in the net, a 2 color core with a NITRO Area 51 starts pulling back. I grab this rod, and after a short battle, we boxed a 14lb king. As soon as this fish was in the net, a wire diver on 3 with 70' of line out , and an 11" Protroll Chartruse blade, with chartruse tape and a Siggs Rigs green apple trophy fly fired. Mark grabbed this rod. It peeled off a quick 100+ of line off before it slowed down. A short battle later another 14lb king. This was 3 nice kings in the box by 6:10AM!

From here I lost track of what went when. The Chartruse Protroll/Siggs Rigs combo went 2 more times. An 11" Protroll double peal fish scale with a Siggs Rigs brushed stainless trophy fly went.
We took a fish on 2 color core with a Stingray size double orange crush
We took a fish on a half core with a Stingray size crag's x-mas
Our last fish came at 11AM in 55FOW on a rigger set at 25' with a Stingray size Killer Dolphin. Hunter reeled this fish in. It ended up being our biggest fish, and was the biggest fish of the tournament!
He asked for his prize money for the biggest fish after the weigh in.
We stayed in 30-60FOW all day. We ended up 10 for 10, and our biggest 6 that we weighed in weighed 76.5lbs. We won the GLFTT event and Hunter caught the biggest fish.
Hunter kept the money for the biggest fish.
Here is the webcam image of our winning catch.

Here is the photo from the weigh in. Some goofy looking guy in a black shirt is in front of the fish.

We(my boys and I) met Glen(Attitude) and Mark(Just Hook'n) at the boat around 4:15 on Friday. I had brought my project I had been working on at home, and rigged it up on the boat. After we had it rigged and tested at the dock, we decided to head out and give it a try on the lake.
We left the dock around 6:30 and headed out. The wind blew hard out of the North/Northwest for a day and a half. I decided we were going to shut down right out front and check for fish. It did not take long and we were doing battle.
Things that worked:
Wire diver on 3 with 70' of line out with an 11" Protroll Chartruse blade with Mountain Dew tape, teamed up with a Siggs Rigs green apple Trophy fly.
Wire diver on 3 with 70' of line out with an 8" Stinger Prochip 8 PK Special with a Siggs Rigs green hypontist trophy fly.
2, 3, color cores with Stingray sized Craig's x-mas and Craig's x-mas reverse.
Stingray sized NBK on a rigger set at 25.
We found what we were looking for, for our tourney on Sunday morning, so we pulled lines at 9PM(We all hated to pull the lines, because the fishing was hot) because had to leave the dock at 4AM, and ended up 4 for 7 on Friday night.
This was the last photo taken by the webcam on Friday night. Hunter is really turning into quite the fisherman. Notice him removing the planer board while we were pulling lines.
