This tournament is open to all boat sizes. In rough conditions, the bigger boats have the advantage.
These tournaments are planned a year in advance. They can not plan for the weather and if the fish will be there or not. Unfortunately, the salmon did not get the message on the dates of the Muskegon event, and did not show up. Last year we were hammering them in Muskegon at this time.
The fishing stunk in Muskegon this weekend. Nice job on the two you got!

Hopefully the fishing is better next weekend. I will be up Friday night and fishing Saturday morning.

I forgot to put in my report that we pulled lines at 11PM.
We marked lots of fish at dark and after dark, but they did not want to coperate last night.

tltorrice(Tom), tangled factor(Pat) and Doug met me at the dock at 6:45pm. After prepping the boat, we left the dock around 7PM.
We trolled around in the 65-90FOW, and managed to go 1 for 2. While Doug was fighting an 8lb king on a 3 color with a Stingray size double orange crush, a wire diver with a prochip 8 with a Siggs Rigs Blue Mist went. This fish wrapped in the diver next to it, and we lost the fish, flasher and fly.

It was a nice night to be on the water, and I was with GREAT company! Too bad the fish did not coperate with us.

I did get a picture of the sunset with my cel phone(forgot my digital camera). Tom has a picture of Doug and the only fish we boated.

From the sounds on the radio, the fishing stunk pretty bad. Hopefully the fishing in Muskegon picks up soon.

I am familiar with sharpening hooks. I fished bass tournaments for 20+ years. Got out of that because it was becoming more work than fun. I am really looking forward to fishing Lake Michigan.
I was hard core into fishing bass tournaments. I use to fish tourneys in Michigan, Indiana, and Ohio. Then I got to the point where I did not enjoy bass fishing unless I was in a tournament.
I sold my bass boat 5 or 6 years ago, and stopped bass fishing completely. This year I started taking my sons fishing in the neighbors pond across the street. We usually catch a couple of bass each time we go there.
Since I started bass fishing in the pond across the street, I am getting an itch to be on the deck of a bass boat flippin a jig-n-pig again. Time to give some of my old bass fishing buddies a call.
