I go to the home page and click on the new posts.
This is the way I come into the site every time. I like to catch my local weather forecast and current radar image on the homepage.

We have a large tree on our property that gets rubbed every year. I have had my trail camera pointed at this large tree all season. You can see how large this tree is in the images.
Here is a nice buck in the back ground.
I finally got a picture of a deer getting ready to rub it. Its a LARGE 8 point. I am pretty sure its the same buck in both pictures.
I have a tree stand right next to where the buck is in the first image. I wonder where I will be the next couple of days?

When you visit Great Lakes Fisherman, how do you get here?

The link for social groups has always been in the UserCp settings. I added a link to social groups on the home page in the Site Navigation block.

The walleye section now has a new look. On the forum home page, everything looks the same. You will be able to tell when you are in the walleye section by the looks.

I think I will put the walleye status icons for new thread, old thread, and closed thread on an invisible back ground instead of the white back ground. What do you think about the white back groundI have them on?

Nice job Dan!

How many pics is that equating to for ya Mike? I asked Scott, Fishing Machine II how many he gets as he runs the older Cuddybacks and this was his response. Somewhat of a gauge for you....Good luck, whatever you end up doing.
I can get around 700-900 pics with one set of batteries with the older cuddeback if its not too cold and i'm not sure how many I can get out of the new Cuddeback IR as I only had around 200 pics in a weeks time and I still had 3 out of 4 on the battery life in it!! They both take great pics compared to alot of other trail cams out there.
In the 2-3 weeks of battery life on mine, it is only taking around 10-15 pictures.
I may have to call them and ask them about it.

Good shootin Matt!

Thanks Adam. I am going to do something with the colors of the walleye section to make it stand out from the salmon section. I had it changed once and did not care for the looks of it. I have this weekend off, so I should be able to finish it.

Nice shooting Adam!

Whats the voltage on those D Cells Mike? Theyre just run in series to get up to a certain amount of volts to run the unit. If it adds up to 6 or 12 volts there must be a way to wire it up so you can use one of those small gell batteries that are used on items like a mojo duck or a vexilar flasher? Rechargable and still a relatively small package that could set at the base of the tree, post etc. Just an idea.
Adds up to 6volts. It could be converted very easily by drilling a hole and adding some wires.
I have another idea cooked up, but dont have the $$$ to spend on it, to put it together. It is untested, and would cost a lot of money. If it didn't work, welll you know......
I will leave it as another one of my ideas I "might" get to someday.

Isn't it funny, when I was a kid we used to dream of stuff like this.
Quit it. Your making me feel old.

Welcome aboard Robert. Thanks for taking a minute and doing an introduction!
I live in Otsego and have fished out of Muskegon for the last 3 years. Next year I will be fishing out of South Haven.I am curious as to how you are catching steelhead through the ice. Are you fishing an inland lake that is connected to a river?
-
Don't fool yourself into thinking that salmon and trout cannot be caught through the ice. I target them and have quite a bit of success. My big one last year was a 12 pound steelhead fun fun fun. I hope to be on the ice in about a month or so doing just that trying to get a salmon or trout.
That sounds like a hoot! What is your set up for steelhead through the ice?

I have a Cuddeback Trail Cam that I have had for around 3 years. I never really paid attention to how many batteries it went through until this year. It seems to be going through a set(4 D cells) of batteries every 2 weeks.
My wife picked up a package of 8 D cell batteries from Walmart for me yesterday. The price for the batteries was $11.00.
I have used rechargeable batteries and they dont near as long as a regular battery, which is why I use the regular batteries.
I think my Cuddeback may end up on ebay.

You might be right Mike we had a good season I thought you one the one when we met in 120ft by the nets when we both said we were headed somewhere else. Oh well great minds think alike at times I had a great time. Just found it ironic our boats met again and had to say something.
Yep....Maybe at the end of next season, they(our boats) will meet in front of the storage building again.

Well there's nothing prettier than a full quiver of cedar arrows all crested with barred feathers and all that, but for practicality and efficiency nothing I've found beats a good set of carbons. Especially if you like to hunt small game with your bow. I can buy a half dozen carbon arrows and practice and hunt with them and as long as I don't lose them they'll stay good for years. Aluminum is usually bent the first time you miss your target, and wood usually cracks or brakes clean in two.
I've been using the CE maximas 350s with the blazer vanes.
The arrow I shot my doe with on Monday has been through 3 deer now.
The blades on the broadhead have been replaced. -
Are you sure that wasn't the tournament I won? I purposely made sure I was the last boat out the channel that day to fish out front by myself. Image my suprise when the sun came up and you was sitting in front of me.

Brett called me today and told me my baby was tucked away for the winter now. He did ask if the speed and temp sensors on the back of the boat was working. I told him no, and he said it was because of a massive zebra mussle build up.

I have been using Water Front Storage since 2006. I believe you followed me there.

thanks for the help boys. I guess I will not trust the DNR site and wait until this site gives the good reports.
Is this the correct section?
any tips on lures/rigs?
This is where they will be posted when the reports come in.
