went 3-4 last night with a couple of guys from work fished 5pm till almost dark made a couple trips threw the channel with nothing. so went out into lake mich. and fished 20-40 ft of water right in front of the peirs. picked up a 5 lb brown on a three color with a green glow black ladder back jp. one six lb salmon on a dipsy 50 back on 3 with mt. dew spinny and green mirage fly. and another salmon on the other diver also about 6 lb same settings but with a mt. dew spiny and purple and yellow fly. both dipsys had regular rings on not mag rings fyi. one rigger release with a white spiny and white and pink beaded fly. set at 20ft. down i think alot of the bigger fish have went up the river very cold water out side of the mud line 47 degrees on top. in the mud was 56

you can check here for some good deals or when i first got my boat i bought alot of the things i needed at the swap meet that this website puts on in the spring in grand rapids
-
let the fish run as much as it wants you dont want a fresh king thrashing around at the back of the boat. usually turns into a mess

i want to know what every one likes so much about the florocarbon that would make every one switch from the stuff they have used for years. what are the benifits to it capared to big game mono

if it was me id just run main lines seems to me you would want as few weak points in the line as possible ive seen to many swivles break with big fish

thats exactly what i use on on my leadcores if your talking about about sucess as far as catching fish with out break offs ive only had one break off in two years and that was on the lead core it self. i did get and 18 lb king friday on the 12 color. but it was mainly a rigger bite but i run the same stuff on my riggers to. 25 lb big game

nice job on the fishin

id also like to add thks to the other guys that were out because no matter how much info i spit out over the radio no body bothered us all day. and we all know how it goes it seems like if you start giveing out info theres usually somebody who just has to run right up your butt. i was pretty loose lipped about how i was doing and with what.

all our fish came in 115 ft of water to day all but 2 on downriggers 10-13 the biggest of the day was on a 12 color with atomic trout and dink in tonys hand was a dipsy 165 back on 2 with green glow frog. so that leaves 8 fish and 2 releases. one rigger set at 60 flonder pounder as fixed slider 10 up and the other green moonshine in the pict. on main line 50 out. other rigger set at 50 with the blue jamacin sunrise as slidder 10 up and green jamacian sunrise on main line 40 out. aka spongebob if it a silver streak mine isnt. and if your saying yea this guy fishes 3 days a week all summer no. this is the first trip solo on my own boat cause ive had boat owner nightmares all summer fist jel coat repair then prop repair the when i thought i was all ready i ran the boat on the hose for 2 mins and it broke down . so im a little geeked up about today. oh yea south of the peir one end of the slides the other and then back. first line set at 7am. off the lake at 11 am

ill be there if its a go looks pretty ify. out of holland in the morning
-
most of the boats ive seen includeing mine are carpeted under the rails. so you just press one barb into the carpet and your good to go. they come out really easy due to the tight woven boat carpet. or ive seen people use a short length of 1/2 x 2 peice of trim wood with a bunch of little holes drilled along the top edge
-
just wondering who will be out friday morning. ill be out of holland. with the first trip of the year had several issues to take care of with the boat and finally got them worked out i hope:eek:

ive ran these in the past and have never had any issues putting out lines. just put them out like normal shallowest one first deepest one last. and i have always hooked them onto the lead core about 5 ft. above the knot where the leader starts
