  7. Thanks Kyle! We were a good 3/4 mile off shore when I took that with a 70-300 lense on my Canon Rebel Digital SLR! I took more that I will try to get posted tomorrow!
  8. For some reason the photo will not post so if someone could help that would be great! I took this photo on a hazy morning before a storm blew in!
  9. When you are getting those small spring coho here is a fast and easy way to cook them! Skin and cut out fat and bones (I have young kids so bones dont work) Fill a frying pan about a 1/8 inch deep in oil of your choice and turn on to a very HIGH heat. In a bowl on the side dip small pieces of fish in a spice and oil mixture just so the seasoning sticks then cook in the pan for about 30 seconds on each side. The thicker pieces will still be a little bit pink in the middle but it has an awsome taste. you do have to watch the pan cause the spices that are left in the pan will tend to burn. If this happens dump the oil and start again! If the coho is more then a inch thick this will not work!
  10. Here are a few that were caught out of Indiana this past week! All caught on 2 Inch flies!

  13. We got 3 coho today standing on a short pier in Portage Indiana today. Man it feels good to get out! We also watched some guys banging some browns on Skein on the bottom!
  14. We are starting to catch coho out of the Michigan City Harbor. I feel so much better now!!! 2 Inch Flies are hot right now in the darker colors!
  15. I cut a bunch of crud out of the press release! What sucks is we can not use the sabiki rigs yet! Changes on using live gizzard shad, threadfin shad, and alewives as bait Rule changes regarding the use of live gizzard shad, threadfin shad and alewives as bait, and the size of cast nets used in collecting such bait, take effect March 22. - Live alewives may be collected, possessed and used on Lake Michigan only, and may not be transported away from Lake Michigan. Any unused alewives must be killed. A person must immediately kill alewives collected from waters other than Lake Michigan. - The maximum cast net diameter is increased to 20 feet for both the Ohio River and the rest of the state. Mesh size remains at 3/4 inch stretch mesh for normal minnow/crayfish collection statewide. However, cast nets used at the eight named live shad water bodies listed above will be able to have a maximum mesh size of 2 inches stretch mesh. Stretch mesh is the distance between two opposite knots of a net mesh when the net is stretched tight. This will allow for more practical use in collecting live gizzard shad, threadfin shad or alewives, which school in open water. The DNR website will be updated as the effective date approaches.
  16. I am currently looking for old J plugs that have the paint missing and stuff like that. The body of the J plug has to be in ok shape but I am going to get them painted so the look does not matter. I am willing to pay $.50 per J plug so dig in the old boxes of baits and send me a PM.
