Is it easier to use the nickel plated copper over regular copper. I am spooling 2 more copper rods and was wondering if the super copper os a little more forgiving as far as kinking.
Thanks Steve

Instalaunch also has a cleaning station that works out OK. There is a nice one right at the launch If I remember correctly.

Do plugs dive at all. Last year I ran a DW plug off the ball because I thought they dove a little, so I didn't want them to dive into the ball line. I usually seperate my stackers by 15- 20 ' And the top rods are run out of rod holders pointed out over the water at a 45 angle and the bottoms are turned inside the riggers. I just started doing this last year and managed a few with out any tangles but I am sure they will becoming.
Thanks Steve

Last year when I started out I started with 2 dipsy rods and 2 core rods. In addition to stacking DRs. And good luck if you can stop at 500. It will be amazing were you'll get money once your fishing.
Another good sitte is fishdogcompany.com They seam to have the best prices. I also get some good stuff from brett's.

I am heading to manistee in july for the outing. This will be my 2nd time fishing Manistee. Last year I could only manage to get the DR set with stackers. I think I may have gotten the hang of deploying my walkers ( Thanks to Paulywood). What should I use in july. I plan on running regular spoons on my 150' and 300' copper. On the walkers I am going to try spin doctors and flies and j plug. On the Dr I will have 2 Flashers and flies stacked on one rigger and a j plug and mag spoon on the other rigger.
Is this a good start or does anyone have any improvments to try.
Thanks Steve

We are staying fri thru suday at insta launch on site 65. If our big boat is out of the shop we will be good to go in any weather. If its not we are bring up our small walleye rig. I hope to get to meet a few of you guys and learn a little if I can. We stayed there last year in september and fished the lake. It was about 30min - 45 min to the pier heads by water. We will be launching at the ramp from now on.

yeah I gave up on the bird and only use it as a gps. And I found a garmin 400c w/ the dual freq sonar. Now I just need time to fish. I think I am going sunday.
Did u get your auto pilot back on yet. or are you still on lite duty.

I have run them as fast as 3.2 and still gotten fish. But the best seams to be between 2.0 and 2.5.

I had the same problem last year. After a ride along this year with Paulywood he made it look simple. My problem was 1 my boards were to close to the boat and 2 He used the drag and clickers to let the line out on the dipsy.

I am getting a new garmin400c fishfinder from a friend and have a few transducer questions. I saw one work really well with a dual frequency ducer and would like to get one for my unit.
My question is what is the differance between dual freq and dual beam. I looked it up and only got more confused.

I just bought an old Donzi fishing boat with a full transome swim platform. The motor has about 1400hrs on it and I want to find a bracket to put on the swim platform so I can put my 8hp kicker off my walleye boat on it. I just want a second motor just in case.

Are these outing in ludington every month or do they move around. I can't make it this month but would like to get to the july outing. It is nice to be able to put a face with some of the names that have helped me out on this site.
Thanks Steve

I am adding 4 more rods to my arsanel this weekend. I was thinking of getting into copper because of the shorter line to depth. Like a 100, 150, 200,and 250.
Or should I be looking at mixing it up like a 150, 250 copper and a full core and a half core.
Also I'm looking for some feed back on the new okuma xp 302 and 452 reels if anyone has had one yet.
Thanks Steve

Did that 4lbs include the cheek fillet.

I would like to thank Nick (Paulywood) again for letting us fish on his ride. We both had an awsome time. My 7 year old talked for 2 1/2 hours on the way home about his first king.
Thanks Again Steve and Hunter

Priority1 has a good point. It is faster for me to go to linwood than sebewaing if I am not staying at our cabin. Plus you get a little better milage on I75 than M24 or van dyke. Linwood beach marina ids the only one I know of and they are not a dnr ramp. The only useable DNR ramp on the East bay I know of is Qsee And wild fowl bay. Everything else is municiple or private.

If you can post a report I am heading to Qsee next weekend.

This early I would launch out of Quanicasee(south of Sebewaing). But is your heading to Sebewaing start to the south of fish point. ( 1st point to the south of the bouys). And dont be affraid to try shallow. (10') Last year this time I was finding them in 10-16' Between Sebewaing and Qsee. Take the whole box. Start with cranks and if they are not working swith over to BB and harnesses.
Good luck Steve

I looked at the 385 ci but ended up getting a 587ci for my bow mount. Both were good units I just got a really good deal on the 587.

I netted a floating thin fin and attached to it were 2 tangled rods. If you can ID them I would like to get them back to the owners. I know I would be a little peved at lossing these.
