  1. Fished from 1:30 to 5:30. A little bumpy, but nothing like yesterday. 5 for 5. 2 decent kings, small coho, shaker king and laker thrown back. Blue dolphin, Rainbow trout thunderstick, and orange crush took the three keepers. Went like this: Hour 1: nothing. Hour 2: getting bored. Start of hour three: All 5 fish in about 10 minutes, tangled lines, broken rigger cable:mad: (right as I lifted the ball over the rail, fell inside!). Hour 4: See hour 1.
  2. Set lines about 7:30. About 8:30, my passengers were not so enthused by the bumpy ride. A 6 pound brown hit (rainbow pattern thunderstick on a board) just as I said to pull lines, then picked up a shaker king on one of the riggers. Definitely saw 5 footers.
  3. I used it last year, and will again this year, and didn't have any problems. Pricewise, you can get 2 full cores for $16, when you pay $13 for 1 core at most local stores.
  4. I don't know if this works for LGC2000, but I had a LGC3000 that went bad just after it was out of warranty. Called Lowrance, and they sold me a LGC4000 for $112.00. In my case, I can use the different antenna, as long as I have the right inline resistor. Might be worth a try.
  5. Jim, I had a Pro V 17, went to a Targa 18 last year. Quite a bit deeper boat. Takes the waves far better than the 17 did. You won't be disappointed.
  6. I have a brand new Lowrance x96tx. What is your definition of cheap?
  7. I just bought my second gps antenna (LGC-3000, $250.00) the other day. The first two lasted a week or two past the one year warranty. I didn't buy the extended warranty the first two times, and decided I would this time. Called Lowrance, and in the course of the conversation, he said the 3000's were very sensitive to any surges or static, even suggested that the Coast Guard passing by could blow it out. He said that if I had been under warranty, the replacement would have been an LGC-4000. Then he said if I gave him the serial number of my old antenna, he could send me a 4000 for $112.00. Being the math whiz that I am, I immediately realized this was less than 250 and said yes. Hopefully this is a better unit. (Though the others worked great right up until they didn't.)
  8. If you fish north of the creek (Deerlick), you will catch a few perch, and a lot of gobies. Go south.
