  1. nick, great job again man. the only suggestion I have is that if we could get everyone to agree to run 9 poles, that would be more worth burning the gas, especially with the depths we are starting to run out to. If not, I know it keeps it fair. Maybe we could put it to a vote when people are signing up for each event. Just an idea. I know it would match the 15 fish limit (3 man).

I posted some pictures on the site.

    Put them in here: http://www.greatlakesfisherman.com/gallery/browseimages.php?c=12&userid=

Hope that is the right place.

Thanks again man. Can't wait for the next one.

  2. Could not find the fish today that weighed worth a darn.

    Ended up 6 for 10.

Lost a 53pounders on copper. OK, maybe it was foul hooked laker, which would make me feel better. We never got a look so that is the story I am sticking with.

    Fished 140fow to 195fow.

Most fish came in the 145-165fow area. Bigger fish are out deeper and I proved it.

    All kings today.

    copper 300ft went 5 times.

Rigger actually went 4 times, mostly on the free slider 10 ft above the 45ft depth (45-55 were the rigger depths most of the day).

Dipsey back 170 on 2 with same setup as day before went. Green dolphin echip with green and white fly.

Even tried 11" echip boards on the downriggers.

    Popped once but no-one home.

Nothing went on full core or half core, but we had a tough time keeping the lines straight.

Lures were area 51 nitro, nuclear waste mag, glo puke and I think the coyote.

only 2 foot waves, but it was really tough to control the boat today.

  3. Did pretty well prefishing for the sat morning tourney on friday night.

Ended up 9 for 10, threw two of the 9 back. Small laker and small king.

    Of the 7 fish we had 15lbs3oz, 13lbs, 11lbs, 7.5lbs., 7.5lbs, 6lbs, 3lbs.

Log was not very good because all the action happened pretty fast, but I will try to get the details right.

Started in 200fow and found really cold water.

From there we headed in and found the best water in 145fow down 45-60 it was 44-47degrees.

    300ft of copper went twice.

    Full core went 4 times.

    Rigger went 3 times.

Dipsey out 170 on 2 went once.

Lures were nuclear waste, nitro ET, nitro area 51, glo puke, nitro nbk and a echip green dolphin with a green fly.

Just wish we could have found these fish back Sat morning.

  4. I just started running copper this year.

Running 300' of 45#, one on each side, then full core, then either a 5 or 3 color outside of that. Last week Sat night, all that caught fish was the copper (and one on the rigger). pretty happy with it so far. Debating getting a 450 setup for later this summer.

However, I think you can also get the same depth with a full core and 4 oz dive bomb if you don't like the extra length (like a 15 color).

But, then you have more to mess with.

    It's just what you like.

I do like the way the lead spools better.

  5. I used to fish at night (1am) for walleye and had great sucess. I've only heard about it during the full moon for Salmon, though I am sure there is at least someone out there at all times on the big water. Those that I have heard having the most sucess are the full mooners. And then obviously some good glo spoons and the normal pre-sun setup.
