  1. Sorry for the late post, been a busy holiday weekend.

Went out of PS early Sunday morning. Fished deep based on report from 08/30. Started in 130 and went out to 155. Gave up, finally came in to other traffic at 125. Nailed a double on full core. Magnum Blue Dolphin and Magnum Carmel Dolphin. Faught both fish for 25 minutes and finally pulled in two very nice 15+lb kings. That is all we got for the day, but it was fun completing the double.

  2. What a great day on the water. It was absolutely flat compared to last Sat am. We got lines wet by about 6:00 and started picking them back up right away. I got the first rigger set 45 down in about 65fow and it popped. Area 51 nitro. Put it down and it went again, missed that one. Put it down and it went again, this time on the slider, Green Fireball Nitro, by this time I think we were in about 80fow. Next one was on full core with a double glow J plug in 85fow. Things slowed down for an hour or so at this time. Then we picked up Jim Bobbers chatter on the radio about JP slammers, so we figured what the hay. Threw out Carmel Dolphin JP slammer on half core and bingo. As soon as it got straight it started bouncing. Missed a big fish (Mike would say a 53 pounder) on the downrigger at 50 in 105fow. Snapped the line about 10 foot off the pole. Picked up our last fish in about 110fow on full core with a NBK JP Slammer. Ended up 5 for 7. All smaller fish. Between 5 and 8 pounds. All in all a great day on the water with a Buddy I had not spent time with in a while from the Detroit area.

  3. Big waves on the lake on Saturday morning. Lost one early (5:30ish) on a rigger in 65fow down 40 on a nitro green fireball. Slow troll out to deeper water (waves pushing in). After sun up we managed to put two in the boat. One (king) in 70 fow 50 down on the rigger on Carmel Dolphin Magnum. One (laker) in 90 fow on full core NBK. Picture is of my brother and his son, who loves to fish but can't handle the big water just yet.

  4. We braved the 5 foot waves Saturday night and managed to put one in the box. It came as we were quitting at 10:30pm 70fow 50 down on the rigger with napalm nitro. The real reason we went out at night was to stay on the water and fish in the morning. We were lines in by 4:45 and found them early between 95 and 105 fow. First one came on Electric Blueberry Nitro on a figger 45 down at about 5:30. Second came on Napalm Nitro on full core about a half hour later. Third was five minutes later on the Dipsey 120 back, Green Fireball Nitro. missed one after we switched lures on an NBK 45 down on a rigger. Forth fish of the day was on Full Core, NBK, in about 120fow at about 8:00. Next miss was just as we pulled that fish in the boat. Dipsey about 150 back went with a Green Dolphin. It was Skamania baby. I have never in my life witnessed a fish jump 6ft out of the water until now. This thing got serious air and the dipsey and lure went limp the second it hit the water. Bummer. The last fish came just as I got the empty dipsey rig to the boat (so if you are counting 3 fish in about 5 minutes). This one was Full Core Blue Dolphin and that one filled the box. Biggest fish was about 12 pounds. Most of the fish were good eat'n fish between 6 and 8 pounds.

THANKS to GLF for all his tips last week Tuesday. Really made Sunday a sucess.
