WOW....looks like you boys grew some big ones in the last few years.
Whats your take on the predator/bait-fish calculations used by the state that is controlling your stocking numbers? I have a feeling we are going to see that soon here in NY on Lake O. Do you think you could get away with higher stocking in MI and not devastate the bait-fish population?
They cut our plants back a few yrs ago! The numbers of fish are down some but now we are getting bigger fish and we have a ton of bait!!

Got up Thursday afternoon and headed out in the evening for a few hrs, headed south a couple of miles and set up in 40 fow! Went 3 for 4 landing 2 kings and a nice steelie! Mag Silverstreak spoons on riggers and short cores!
10.6 lb steelhead we let go!
24.5 lb king Tiff caught!
2 kings we kept!
Friday morning set back up in the same water as Friday and hit a couple right away but couldnt hold them! The nothing for a while so we moved out to 50 to 60 and a little further north and started to hit a few more! Ended the morning going 3 for 8, all mag streaks again!
Saturday morning ran south and hit a fish right off the bat and then nothing for a bit so we kept trolling south. Hit 2 more and lost a couple more and then it shut right down for us landing 3 and losing a couple! All plugs this morning , green glow dreamweaver plug and green splatter ace high off the 10 colors!
Sunday morning we didnt run as far south and set up in 60 fow and didnt even have all the lines in and hit a screamer! Took my sons girlfreind about 15 minutes to land it and turned out to be a dandy 26.4 lb king! Stayed in about a mile strectch of water and hit 3 more putting in 2 more before it died again!
26.4 lber
19.3 lber and the 26.4 lber
All in all the numbers were'nt there but some quality fish and the weather was great!!

I started running meat rigs last year w/ some success but I do have some questions. I'm running 11" paddles and large spin drs. My rig have teaser flies on them and I'm using them as they come out of the package. On most of them the distance from the snap on the back of the paddle to the hooks is about 4.5' to 5', is this the correct length? What should be my target speed to run them at? Can I run any other presentations while running meat rigs?
Sounds about right on the distance! You can run spoons and plugs right along with your meat presentation, we do it all the time! Good Luck!

I fish the inner bay as much as the outer. I don't stay on junk fish. We take an occasional farm animal or cat but when we release them they tell the rest of their school what we did to them on Priority1.
I need to learn how to do that Frank!!!

Well the wife and I headed back out yesterday (16th) and went right back to where we had been getting them the prior 2 days! Set up and right off the bat 2 of my boards get hung up . Get that cluster fixed and started popping some fish! First hour we put 7 keepers in the boat and then NOTHING!! Water goes flat and the flies start comming out and the wife HATES the bting flies out there...LOL!! Anyways we keep plugging along with just a couple of short pull backs and 1 lost at the back of the boat! Darn weeds start to become a problem as well and we have to keep checking our baits about every 5 minutes! Just about ready to head out deeper as i hear the guys on the radio doing good, we hit a double landing 1 and losing 1. We reset back up and hit 2 more quick ones as i made a quick circle thru the same spot to give us our 2 person limit! I figured it would be a tougher bite today in shallow with out a chop and high skies and it was but we hung in there and we were pretty much all by our selves!

Hey Scott,
I'm not sure what you do for a living, but I think I want in on that gig! Not too many people can afford to have the toys you have, and still come up with the time to use them. Keep on hammering them! John
