  4. set the drags just tight enough that they dont creep out, when you hook up the first thing i do is loosen the drag before pulling the rod out of the holder ,this alows a smoother removal from the rod holder, that is when you can loose most of your fish ,getting the rod out. if you are getting bit and the fish are coming off before you get to the rod they are short striking or grabing the flasher ot the front of the flie and not hooking up good. to solve this issue you can speed up just a tick or change your angle of troll, that makes the fish hit from a different direction and thus getting hooked better. just myu 2 cents worth good luck.

  5. fished strait out 90 to 120 fow it was ruff 2 ta 3 foot chop the best troll was into them north east, went 11 for 17 in 3 hrs 4 steelies 7 kings .

    what worked :

250 copper with mt.dew 8 inch paddle green mirage flie

rigger down 50 with glow fire dog jp slammer and the free slider with orange fuzzy glow frog jp slammer

300 copper with halo dolphin jp slammer

7 colors of lead with green black ladder back jp plug.

rigger down 55 with a moonshine spoon

  6. the first thing i do is find bait and figure out where the current is coming from, turn into it or quarter it this ussuallv works , I have caught lots of fish when not marking them they are fast little buggers and you dont always mark em especialy kings , i think a lot of times they streak in from the sides.after you get a "good" troll direction mess with your speed to get to your boats optimal fishing speed ( not all boats fish good at the same speed )let the fish tell ya when its right then try to keep that speed at all cost if you slow down to land a fish be sure to get back to your good speed, speed is important. Fishing is all about repeatability ,find out what works and repeat it! I try to never follow other boats think about it ,your buddie is in front of you and says we are smacking em pull up behind us ..... if he is catching fish he is getting the aggresive ones out of the school before you get to it hmmm. I try to stay in "clean water" away from other boats and try to be that first boat thru a school of fish. this is just my 2 cents . jimmy
