  2. happens a lot while the water is cold last year in March and April we caught steelhead Brown's and Lakers on these same GPS marks.Had a buddy catch an Atlantic out there last week. They all come into the bay in good numbers every winter.
  3. saginaw bay 3-6-17 tried fished Saginaw river in bay city on Monday and water was very muddy and very fast. We were prepared for this as We brought our trolling gear with us. Headed 4 miles NW out of river to some GPS marks from this time last year in 16 to 20 fow and started trolling husky jerks. Didn't have all the boards out before the first one went off which was a 17 pound lake trout. We landed 1 laker and 14 eyes before we got blown off the water. Trolled deep husky jerks at 1.0 mph anywhere from 35 to 70 off the boards. Good colors were bloody nose wonderbread glass perch and pink clown.
  4. Fished the weed bed again yesterday straight out from my lodge and boxed 7 very nice walleye 5 northern pike and 15 jumbo perch. We trolled all crawlers with 1 oz bouncers 9 to 12 foot off the boards at 1.8 to 2.0 mph. We also caught and released 6 largemouth bass and 5 dogfish. I was fishing with beginner's yesterday and we easily lost 8 to 10 walleye so there is a good number of fish in there.
  5. yes do that give me a call and I'll let u know how fishing is here is my number 989 670 0104 I also have lodging and private boat launch
  6. title should say 9-7 not 9-8 and I posted it before I was finished I believe that the walleye will continue to gather on these weed beds in the shallows as the weather cools off and more perch move in
  7. Fished inside the island chain yesterday on a big weed bed by where my duck blinds go and caught 9 very nice walleye 6 jumbo perch and 3 big northern pike. I have lived on the bay and fished it my entire life and this is the first time I have ever trolled for walleye inside of the islands. Had friends catching perch along this weed bed in 4 to 6 fow the past week they have been catching one or two eyes on perch rigs each trip so we decided to try and troll it. The weed bed is directly out from my private boat launch and is a half mile off shore. We trolled flicker shad on fast side and pink harnesses off 1 oz bouncers everything 8 to 12 foot off the boards at 1.8 mph. These were very nice eyes biggest was $7 inches and smallest 21.
  8. Nice fish man i got laid off over in south haven so i have not been salmon fishing last couple weeks but it was fun while it lasted. I am still catching limits of eyes in shallow on the weed beds out from my lodge. I have been been very busy getting all the duck/goose hunting stuff together for the early opener sept 1. We are going to have to get out one of these days.
  9. I usually do 600 for a full week up to 5 guys, so if you have 6 guys for a full week it would be 700. If you only want a weekend for 6 guys it would prolly be 250.
  10. Sorry for some reason i just seen your reply, the price depends on how many people and how many nights. U can call me 989 670 0104 if you want any further info, or pics of the place

  12. Fished out of my private lodge and boat launch this morning and went to the same gps mark i fished last friday and saturday and the fish were still there. I figured with all the rain and cooler temps this week they would not got far. Dropped lines at 7 and were back at the lodge at 10 with a 2 man limit of eyes. Same program as last week light bouncers 20 to 30 off the boards at 1.7 to 2 mph to keep them above the weeds. Only caught 4 small sheapheads which is nice not having to deal with catfish. Same colors as last week never changed a crawler harness. The eyes today were 17 to 20 inchers with only one fish over 21 inches.
  13. Well had a very interesting morning, hit a 6 point buck on my way up to my lodge saturday morning roughly at 630 a.m. Took out most of my driver side front end. The buck had two broken legs and was suffering so i called a police officer to dispatch it. An hour later he showed up and shot the deer which i took gutted and skinned and hung in my walk in freezer. It was light raining with storms passing on the east and west sides of sebewaing but nothing out over the water from my lodge so we loaded the boat and got ready to hit the water 3 hours after hitting the deer. The spot that we are fishing is just on the other other side on the island chain is straight out from my lodge in rose island which is 3 miles north of sebewaing. We got out there and it was 2 to 3 footers out of the sse got on the gps marks and started filling the box. The wind switched to the sw and started blowing upwards of 25 mph, waves building to 4 footers we drifeted with the waves under no power with the boards out moving 1.3 to 2.6 with the waves. We used no plastic today just 3/4 oz bouncers 20 to 33 off the boards. Good colors seem to been chartruece with orange firetiger and bright pink. We hit our 2 man limit again of mostly eyes 17 to 20 inches but had one 24 and one 26. With the cooler weather coming the fish will hold on these weed beds. Got back to the lodge at 1 and had fresh walleye and fresh venison backstraps on the grill. Another great two days of fishing on the bay, im usaully done walleye fishing by now and chasing salmon and getting my blinds and decoys ready for the upcoming duck/goose charter season on the bay, but with the fish that close its hard to turn down just one more limit.
  14. Fished this morning out of my lodge just north of sebewaing. I only had to work 4 ten hour days this week so i got home late last night from south haven where i have been working the last month. We have been doing great on salmon after work in my buddies boat that i stay with during the work week. We fished 10 to 14 fow of water off the back of defoe island trolling tots and crawlers on light bouncers over top of the weed beds. Dropped lines at 600 and were back to my private boat launch at 900 with our two man limit. Heres what worked tots at 15 to 22 off the boards and crawlers 14 to 25 off the boards with 3/4 0z bouncers trolling 1.7 to 1.9. Also picked up 2 very large northern pike the one pushing the 40 inch mark so that was interesting. The walleye were 17 to 23 inches. I will be back on the water first thing in the morning. We only burned 2 gallons of gas for this trip and a dozen crawlers so very light on the wallet. Most trips this season have cost less than 20 to 25 dollars a trip, some trips only costing 15 bucks for steady limits of eyes hence the name cheap limits.
  15. Sorry about the late reply but caseville has slowed down alot from where it was 2 to 4 weeks ago as it usually does this year as the main school of walleyes head further north as the water warms. I fish caseville everyyear from last week of june to last week of july with very nice limits of eyes. Once it slows down there i move to hat reef near port austin and the reef systems as far as harbor beach in search of the bigger walleye. I caught limits after limits of normal sized walleye may and june and use july and early august to fish for larger walleye further north like the big walleye we caught after ice out and to the end of april trolling husky jerks.
  16. If you would like to see how we did out of grindstone this morning look at my report on the lake huron walleye fishing report
  17. Fished out of grindstone this morning with the family and boxed 17 very nice walleye before the wind switched from the sw to the wnw and blew us off. The walleye we landed today were very nice eyes with the biggest being 7.2 pounds and the smallest being 3.6 pounds. We also caught a mess of nice small mouth bass. Heres what worked we ran one side reef runner deep little rippers and the other side crawlers suspended off the bottom. The reef runners we ran 45 to 60 off the boards and the crawlers we ran 1.5 oz inlines 30 to 45 off the boards trolling 1.4 to 1.8. On that side of the lake there are many reefs and rock piles we tried to stay in 25 to 32 fow. We also ran 2 colors of leadcore as our long line with a crawler and that caught the most fish.
  18. we launched from Finn rd it's a small launch in between qsea launch and Patterson rd launch. I normally would not be fishing this area at all this time of year but we had boundaries for the tourney. My fishing buddies were in grindstone all weekend catching limits of 24 to 30 inch walleye that's the area I'm normally fishing once caseville starts slowing down I Will be in grindstone this weekend.
  19. Have not been fishing much lately got a new job for the union and have been out of town. We fished sebewaings american legion tournament on saturday and took second place with a 15 pound weigh in for 5 fish. Trolled spoons off 2 and 3 color leadcore at 2.1 to 2.5, good colors were monkey puke, watermelon, and blueberry muffin. Switched everything from crawlers to spoons due to the extremely warm water and all the junk fish. Fished between the red plug and the green plug in 22 to 26 fow. Normally would not have been fishing this area this time of year but we had boundaries, the fishing from caseville to grindstone city has been execllent with limit catches of very large walleye. The guys that beat us in the tourney were seen fishing that area but it could not be proven, owell no big deal. Our big fish was 6.8 pounds and the rest were just average saginaw bay eyes.
  20. Yes we threw about a dozen 17 to 20 inch walleye back in the water, that does not happen often the only other time we do that is when we are fishing the saginaw river in the early spring.
  21. it depends where you are going but about 2 miles it was less than 3 miles from the pier where we were fishing
  22. Had the privilege of fishing with two older gentlemen on their boat yesterday and it was a blast. We experienced some of the best walleye fishing on the bay that i have ever seen. Launched out of caseville at 630 and had lines tight at 7.The guys i was fishing with were by no means good at walleye fishing and very slow running their side but it did not matter. It was hot right from the start and never slowed down enough to even take a piss. I had one board out on my side and was letting the second one out when the pole almost got ripped from my hands by a 27 inch eye that we landed. I look up and my other board went off and i handed it to one of the older gentlemen and he landed a 28.5 inch 8.6 pound walleye the biggest of his life. Once we were finally able to get some boards out on both sides we were getting doubles and triples one after another. The fishing was so good that we were throwing back 18 to 21 inch walleye. We lost around a dozen fish as well, and threw close to a dozen keepers back. Came in with our 24 fish limit which consisted of all walleyes between 4.5 and 8.6 pounds one of the nicest limits of eyes i have ever seen come from the bay. Its common for us to get some 4,5, and 6 pound fish on our fishing trips but not and entire 24 fish limit of them. The gps mark that we fished i have stopped at twice this year about 2 weeks ago with no luck, but we stopped there yesterday and never left. Here was what worked for us 3 oz bouncers 45 to 55 of the boards trolling at 1.2 to 1.5. Good colors were wonderbread with a pink back, uv firetiger, and purples with green. We fished 25 to 35 fow off oak point and a little south of oak point.
  23. Went to harbor beach for the weekend to my girlfriends parents place to enjoy the maritme festival. Of course i took my boat and fishing gear with. Went saturday morning and had lines in at 6. There were 2 foot waves to start which were building by the minute, picked up 2 nice 5 pound lakers both hit on yellowtail down deep. After we boxed the second fish it was blowing very hard so we went in. The wind was strong all the way till sunday afternoon, after we got off the beach we left the harbor at 730 went out to the gps mark from the morning before and boxed 2 nice cohos and a monster 15 pound laker. We fished both days from 65 to 75 fow and marked hundreds of fish from laying on the bottom to 15 foot under the boat. Orange crush took both cohos up high and the purple kevorkian spoon took the big laker. Im a walleye fisherman so my boat is not set up for salmon fishing so i ran 4 to 6 oz inlines right off my boards with a 6 foot leader from inline to spoon. Trolling speed both days was 2.1 to 2.5, and all spoons were the standard size not mags. Alot of the local guys were coming in with limits of lakers, pinks, cohos, and steelhead.
  24. Had a good friend come from benton harbor with his boat to walleye fish for a couple days and he invited my daughter and i out. We went out of patterson road at 9 this morning, went out of there cause its close to his cabin. It was 4 to 5 footers for the first 3 hours we were out there only boxing 7 eyes in those three hours. Then the wind died down and we stated picking up nice eyes at a very steady pace. My 8 year old daughter cali reeled in 16 of the 32 eyes 5 of which were over 4 pounds. We were 1.5 to 2 miles east southeast of the green plug fishing 26 to 29 fow. Herres what worked 3 oz bouncers 40 to 50 off the boards at 1.1 to 1.8 bouncing up and down with the speed due to the waves. Good colors were the baitfish clown, wonderbread and purple. The last fish we caught for our limit weighed 7.1 pounds, which my daughter caught.
  25. No problem for the plan b spot we cleaned up on em out there yesterday but on opposite side of the plug
