  1. I figure...

If I'm not out on my boat burning money, I'll be some place having not as much fun burning money. Period.

If you put together everything you would probably spend on your boat if you weren't on it i.e. movies, dinner, whatever, You'll spend alot less on the boat even if its 5.00 a gallon.

We do the occasional family day up to the Hardy. Take all our food with us, cruise up the river, find a bayou to hang out in and hang. Anchor the boat, get out, screw around on your own "private" little beach, eat, drink, be merry etc etc etc. If I'm not hanging with the family, I'm fishing with whoever wants to fish.

If you have it, your gonna burn it, somewhere.

    The moral......

    Shut up and Fish!

ps. if you complained about gas and still bought fishing "stuff" this week, raise your hand.........

pps. 86.00 for the truck and we about ran the boat, which obviously wasn't full out for a 26 gallon tank, I think, so's that should be another 86.00 due to the fact, thats whats in the truck too. 15.00 Tourney.

Knowing I spent 187.00 this weekend to have Rich (or somebody) take candid pictures of me.... Priceless. LOL.....

  2. Number one question in most peoples mind is HOW MUCH.

When I see an ad without the price I think the seller probably wants more than it's worth and is ashamed to mention the price.

The American Dream. Buy low sell high!

Wether the seller wants more then its worth or not, Price seperates the Men from the Boys and gives you the doorway to negotiate.

You think people like Trump sold everything for what its worth? Hell NO, if you bought something from Trump you paid more then its worth and didn't even know it.

  3. I had just finished reeling in port side rigger line and taking care of the rod, and looked over at the other rigger. The rod was standing straight up and nobody was home. This was a Stinger Stingray Freakin' Veggies set at 45'

This particular rod with a Cabelas Depthmaster reel on it started the day off with a non working clicker, which I fixed last night. I'm thinking maybe if the clicker would have been working we'd a caught this fish.

I had other rods/reels in the boat. I probably should have used one of these once we discovered the broke clicker..........

  4. This a friend of mines!

15' Jon Boat, 25 hp electric start Evinrude. Bow mount trolling motor, side console and livewell. Fishfinder, boat cover and a nice trailer!

PM for phone # for more information!

    Thanks!

  5. Another memorable May kick off!

Thanks to whoever broke the fan switch!

Thanks to Rich and the gang (getting to be to many to list  ) for making these happen!

I'd post a report but Mike has this photographic memory, so I'd really rather he do it! (not that theres tons to remember, just can't even remember what I just said...lol)

Thanks fellas and see ya'll next time!

  6. ok guys i have a brand new lowrance 5300 GPS on the boat, i have a silly question? what is nmea 2000 and what does it do and........................

You should have gotten a booklet that explains NMEA2000 with your brand new Lowrance. Long story short, its a network!

  7. I have my top sprayed with a water proof spray. The water beads off it nicely, but I am still getting drops through the top. I would like to put something that will seal it off better. The top stored when I have the mooring cover on.

Whatever I use will need to be plyable. Any recommendations?

Whats the water proof spray you use?

Also, I had to go under mine when it rained to see that the seam/threads for sewed in parts tend to leak even with water proof sprays protecting the top.

Only thing I could think of that would still have some plyable to it would be like a bathroom caulk (which is plyable for indoor use). Not that you could caulk the whole top or anything  , but if the seams are leaking (like mine) maybe.........

  8. GLF and I were just talking about this, this morning.

I can get to GH quite quick from ole Pig Lake, if the Lake is co-operating....

That thought has crossed our mind...

But like somebody said before... Its only Monday!!!

Only rain coming is tonight/tomorrow, yea right, you all know as well as I do, wait 10 minutes, this will change...heheheh....

Obviously we can cluster and not do anything together, or we could have a plan of action i.e. cover alot of lake together........

  9. It got up to me around 35-40 yards and took a shot with my 10 gauge and MISSED..:angry2: I couln't beleve it when I seen that darn turkey get up a run off. It was a pretty big one and yesssssss I know I did have turkey fever.

    Rich

How bout a pic of the Cazman, so we can see if you scope yourself with TurkeyFever, like you do with DeerFever!

  10. I had my childhood dog shot by a tresspasser when I was 17. It was aweful

    Oh man, sounds horrid.......

I lost my purebread Rott last year to a car.

Car's and dogs never mix. Duke was the man. He used to chase rabbits in my yard and would never put up a chase for more then about 20 yds and figure out he was too fat to catch 'em. Well last year (he was 8), he put up the chase for about 40yds and caught the rabbit, bad part was he was on the 55mph road I live on when he caught it. Killed them both. I raised him from a pup, brought him home in a shoe box.

I feel for ya's Rich and all who have lost their "Duke"!

  11. When a rod takes off, do you get off your butt and run right over there excited. Or do you just walk over there like its just a fish.

    I think thats like asking...

Men: Which magazine would you rather look at while on the porcelain throne Maxim or Readers Digest?

Women: Which show would you rather go see Chip-n-dales or Tupperware?

    LOL...
