  1. Hi All,

I searched for information on engine oil changing pumps but couldn't find anything. Does anyone have any experience with the pumps on the market that drain oil by pumping through the dipstick? I have two Honda outboards on my sled and was thinking about using a pump through the winter months because it is difficult to pull my boat once they drop our lake level. I was looking at the Pela 650 model. Thanks for any input pro or con.

    Randy

I have a 12 volt that pumps through the dipstick and works great. I think I got it from Overtons. Not at home at the moment don't know the exact model (obviously they work better with the engine hot) I've also used it to refill the outdrive. (and yes people I do it from the bottom up) It struggles a little bit with gear lube, so's I just nuke it a little and works great!

I've used it for my Generator and Riding Lawn mowers also!!!!

  2. nice deer got to be nice shooting it in the cold weather it was 80 out when i shot mine way to hot for hunting

The only bad part about shooting a deer when its 80 is.... If you don't get a good hit and have to track it... The darn things cooking in the woods while your looking around for it!!!

  3. Nice job Rich!!

  4. Grandpa always said "When it's from the east they bite the least" And "When its from the west they bite the best" But if one thinks about why each wind is prominent, you'd realize that an east wind is most often during a low pressure event and high pressure when from the West. Making that old wives tale a reasonably good forecaster for the bite.

I've heard the saying as Winds from the East, Fish bite the least, Winds from the West, Fish bite the best, Winds from the North stay at port, Can't remember if theres a South or not though.... Just drawing a blank...?!?!?!?!?!?!!

I've caught fish no matter what way the winds blow. Can't say any one blow is better or worse then another.. Maybe just coincidental.

  5. If you haven't already gotten your licenses, and the state shuts down, hope their computers don't!!!

    From Michigan.gov

    RECREATION

    53. Archery deer season opens October 1 and waterfowl season opens October 6. Will they be postponed? Can I still get a hunting license?

Archery deer season will open as scheduled on October 1. Hunting and fishing license sales online and at retailers will function as long as the state's computer servers remain functional.

    For more questions and answers!!!

    Have a nice day!

  6. Who is going out deer hunting on opening day or archery season? I may make it out opening night. I am finding it hard to head into the woods while the boat is still in the water.

I don't get a charge out of the bow opener when its a 70 degree forecast for the week.

I don't start getting into it until about the 3rd week.

Not to mention, if you do stick one with an arrow, get both lungs so it won't cook in the field while your tracking....hehehehehe...

  7. Is your boat going slower now than at the beginning of the season?

Did the trims work on the motors at the beginning of the season.

I'll guarantee ya, with them in the full "in" position like they are, your not going to go as fast as you were.....

You can't bring your bow up with the trims stuck at full "in" or "down"...

You could probably use your trim tabs to help compensate a little but not as much as the motor trims......

  8. Saginaw Bay RULES. One suggestion if we do go for walleye please let us run crawler harnesses, even if they must be pulled behind a Stinger Spoon. Give em meat, and even people unfamiliar with the area will catch fish.

    This is absolutely true too!!!!!

My first time 1998ish, Set the boat down right after 200 boats left for the Lind Classic. All I knew was bottom bouncers and crawler harnesses. Took home 8lbers!!!! Was hooked, ran back every weekend for a month straight!

And a big HELLYEA!!! to all of the companies that donated prizes!! Makes it a ton easier to buy the stuff once you get it handed to you and it catches fish!!!!!!

Anybody I forgot...... SORRY and THANK YOU!!!!

  12. I used to get mad at the one that was hanging around the ole lady's ducks cuz he would spend the whole day on the deck pecking on the slider.

I didn't care when I was at work but to hear that shtuff all day long kinda p' me off!!!

For a while there I had to block the slider with plywood so's I didn't have to listen to it.

Couldn't tell for sure if he was picking things off the glass and eating or just pecking at the other pecker he was seeing!
