  1. :) Did you have the line wrapped a couple of times in the back release? I use the Offshore boards for Walleye, but have never used them for Salmon.

Heheheh, funny you should ask. I asked Mike that when HE lost the first board. (He did replace it for me too!)

And yes, I always wrapped it just once. I honestly can't remember if I wrapped it yesterday or not. Short term memory is kinda blowed since High School....hehehehe...

I still like the way Offshore boards run in the water. I'll get used to the walleye boards! I do like the release setup better!!!

I usually find a board in Ludville, guess I gotta make a run there and look around:lol:

  2. I'm going to post pics I promise!

I'm not as good at remembering exactly which name spoon I caught fish on so I'll take pics of the spoons too.....!!!!!

I can tell you they were all Michigan Stingers! and of course a Pro Troll flasher by Custom Fishing Products and Siggs Rigs Fly!!!

On our way out at about 10:30 a couple of fisherwomen coming in said everybody left out is heading for 120!

I figured we'd get out to 110 look around down there and see what the temp was and drop some lines!

I get the 2 1/2 cores set up and the first one takes a rip! 12lb king.

Second fish came on the same setup (starboard board was hot until I got into the wire and lost a color:angry2:) 6lb king.

Third fish came on a rigger down 70 (found cold water at 60 down, which the talk at the dock was before I left) He was a little dink that I didn't quite get into the cooler!

Fourth and final came on a wire dipsey back 160 on 2.5 with the Siggs Rig/Custom fishing product setup in blue bubble 15lb king.

One of these fish on the cores I lost my other Offshore board. I"ll obviously have 2 walleye boards now!!!!! Fish pulled the board down and lost the board but kept the fish!!!!!!

I'll post pics! I'm pooped for now though!!!!

I was straight out and slightly north! Every way trolling caught fish N, S, E, W!!!!!!

Oh yea and fished from 11 and was back home at 3:30!!!

  4. I think I get more irritated with not being able to see anything i.e. setups, fish in the water, etc etc etc.

I mean its doable, and I've had fun fishing after dark, just as long as I'm not setting up lines, or netting fish...lol....

    (I'll drive, less stress)!

  5. On my boat I do(did) put it on the dash.

My dash is smaller, but there was still room for your phone with mine bro!

Other side of that could be.....

When I hook it on a pocket while fishing, the phone goes in the pocket and the clip to the outside....

I've dropped mine out of the upper pockets of flannel shirts before... with the button buttoned!

  6. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

First, thank you Northern King for sponsoring this event!

I had no place else to plug this in yet!!!

Yes! Thanks to everybody that made another good time possible!!

Especially Northern King and You Brian for making this happen!!!!

I could have actually filled your coffee cup, I don't think I drank but about another 2 cups on the water!!!

    See Ya's in Muskegon!!!!! SOON!!!!!!!!

    Peace!!!!!

  7. This is really like a Chevy vs Ford thing...

You ask 10 different people, you get 10 different answers!

I like the lo vis green also and I think the last thing I strung rigger reels with was Iron Silk?!?!?!?!??!

Kinda weird to look at but I catch fish on it! (has almost a plastic sheen to it, which is why I say kinda weird to look at) I know its thinner then most 20lb test should be but can't give you a quote on the actual diameter.

I've only fished league events this year and been using what I normally use for dipsey rods for rigger rods (which I think also have the Iron Silk on them)

Call me weird but I think I change brand names every year just to "Try something new"!!!

  8. I submerged my phone  After it was submerged, it did not work. It just sat there vibrating. So I pulled the battery out and let it dry.

Been there, done that. Mine has been in the Hardy twice and Muskegon Lake once. I"ve dried it out all three times on the dash of the boat with the charger plugged in and still works!!!! (after about 24 hours of drying).....
