  1. You might try Phil Nightwine, he fishes out of Two Harbors, MN - he might have a new secret lure? Also I have a friend who fishes out of Marquette, MI he likes running cowbells & dodgers w/ bucktail flies & glow squid skirts, 30 - 40' back from the ball, close to the bottom near structure -
  2. New friends fishing K/D Salmon Tournament - last Wed. Kevin had won the Port Prize in Kewaunee w/ a 20+ lb King - in the port prize was one of our HeadHunter Red Super Glow spoons - next night the 16lber in the pic hit the spoon - we set them up w/ some more, and hit another 4 of 8 on that spoon - so thanks to Jessica & Kevin for helping us get the word out!
  3. Lake was dead calm w/ full sun, tried running this spoon 250' back on the down rigger, 75' down in 120fow, and followed w/ 250' copper chute rod w/ a flasher fly - was thinking the two would work together? this little salmon hit the spoon, so maybe will play w/ this rig some more?
  4. Salmon & Trout pics...posted on YouTube - also, looking forward to GLA Super Salmon Seminar w/ Dave Mull & Capt. Dan Keating, Sat. Feb. 28th at NestEgg Marine, Marinette, WI!
  5. Fished out of Algoma Thurs., picked up a couple nice steelhead, 130 & 150 fow south of the lighthouse, 3-colors lead on planer board, HammerTime Gold/Orange Crush both times, nice marina/harbor there!
  6. Hi Boog - Tom brought this one into the DNR office to ID. I had to Google it, looks like the Splake's tail fork is not as deep and more rounded than a Lake Trout's, get's that trait from the Brook Trout - also Tom mentioned this one was a pound or so shy of the MI state record, so very excited for him - very cool!
  7. To: "[email protected]" <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, August 19, 2014 2:03 PM Subject: Fw: Tom just got the spoons in the water last night. Had the Black Ops & Head Hunter Glow on the riggers at 100ft down in 174ft of water. No knockoffs on the Black Ops. At 6:00 pm had a knockoff on the Head Hunter and missed it. At 7:10 pm we got or 2nd knockoff on the Head Hunter Glow and 30 minutes later I netted a beautiful 16.1 lb 31 inch splake for my brother Mike. You can bet that spoon will be stuck on that rigger all year now. Thanks Tom beautiful spoons. Will be purchasing backups tonight. Thanks again Tom Cline
  8. Hi JDH - you are definitely on to something, after the 1st light bight, the fish are still there, possibly going negative or hugging the bottom - so trolling fast to trigger an instinctive strike makes sense - we've had luck w/ our Magnum size glow spoons 8:30-10:00am, way after sunup, but down deep & trolling 2.9-3.2, we haven't tried 4mph but if we could maybe run a heavier ball to keep it down? Okay, good luck, thanks for sharing the idea - FishKnocker http://www.gl-tackle.com/
  9. Picked up (3) steelhead out of Kewaunee yest. - (2) on 5 colors lead core w/ Hammertime Orange Crush spoons, single hooks seemed to hold good w/ steelhead aerials, (1) on dipsey w/ BlackOps spoon - talked w/ the kreel survey tech, no salmon were brought in yest. - we trolled from 120 out to 330 fow, not much for marks, temps low 47-48degF - Good Luck out there! 10. Sheboygan, 10lb steelhead, 80fow, 40ft down - south of the nets, we had two others get off same area, of course one was huge! Thanks again to Russell at Angler's Avenue - runs a great tournament!
  11. fished Oconto River Sunday - jigs & wally-divers
  12. Thanks guys, good luck fishing this spring/summer!
