I have read that Braid generally goes 10% deeper than mono. Seems to hold true in my experience. You can use the published charts and add 10% and get close enough.

Thanks again Ryan, very good advice. I checked the transducer this morning and it is hanging below the hull a little too much, like 1/2". There are slots in the bracket to allow moving it up to 1/8" as you suggested. Easy thing to try and play with the gain. The location related to strakes isn't great and not a lot of good options so I will try the easy stuff first and try to improve the baseline before drilling more holes

Good call, Looking at the transducer it looks ok, but I will definitely check this out and tweak it and see if I can improve the situation!
Thanks!

Curious how you are picking up and determine baitfish 20ft down on your electronics?
I am still learning my Lowrance HDS10 so maybe I just need to learn how to fine tune it. When trolling in 70-200 fow the scale to cover top to bottom basically leaves the top 20ft looking like noise. Any help appreciated!

We fished PS 8/10 AM from 80-165 fow without a bite. Did not mark a lot of fish either. We saw 45F water 45 down and 52F 33 down. Only heard a couple of boats with a couple of fish each. One guy radioed a triple out in 190fow. Swallowed my pride and will go back out again

Old thread but I Just bought the X4D and went 5 for 7 on our first trip out yesterday w/ only 6 rods We followed all the advice from others and down speed, temp and depth were all useful to a decent day when fishing has been slow. 3 of our 7 fish were on the Fish Hawk rigger itself... I'm an instant believer!

Same here, 5 for 7 between 8-10am before getting drenched in the rain.
Nice 10 lb Steely and 15 lb laker and another small laker all on Blue flies on deep divers. Other fish caught were 6 lb king and 3lb Steely on riggers, mixed veggie 60ft down. The Riggers kept hitting but lost a nice laker right behind the boat and a Steely that jumped 5ft in the air just seconds after hitting... What a show!
All fish caught in 125-135 ft on north troll. First trip with the new Fish Hawk, life is good

Hello and thanks for all of the great information and help here!
Started big lake fishing last year after a 15 yr diversion into cruising Lake Michigan. This site has been a great help to get me started on the right foot and hope to have something to contribute going forward!
