  1. Well, after about 2 hours on friday and an hour today I have finally released the hitch! I ended up heating the receiver up with a MAP torch and tied off to a tree with my strap and pulled tight to get some tension, then beat it with the blunt side of a maul for about 30 minutes and it finally broke free. I'll chalk this up as a lesson learned and grease the new hitch up good and take it out in the winter! Thanks again for all your help guys!

  2. Thank for the replies guys. Mapp gas was going to be my next attempt. Heat the receiver and then try to quickly cool the shank to hopefully break the seizure. If that doesn't work I'll try to pull it out with a strap and tree. I just worry about the bolts breaking off the frame on the receiver at that point. I guess I know what I'll spend my Saturday doing.

  3. Alright, so I've come across something interesting. I took my boss and his sons out fishing last Friday evening, went 2 for 4. One 2 lb king and one 20 lb king. Both were clean, silver, fresh fish. My boss said today that he grilled them Saturday for lunch. He said the big one turned to a grayish/white color after a few minutes on the grill and tasted TERRIBLE! The small one turned out great. Both cooked the same way, the meat was very pink when I filleted them the night before. Any one ever had this happen or hear anything similar to this? He was really bummed, it was his first big lake fish and was bummed it turned out terrible.

  4. It is mold growing in the vinyl. Mix baking soda with a little bleach into a paste and apply, let sit overnight, rinse and reapply as necessary. Be cautious of the bleach on the stiching. In my experience you can only treat it- you can never get rid of it completely, short of replacing the vinyl.

  5. Slow night for us last night, but ended up being well worth it! Went 2 for 3 2 hits on a 10 color with BLL blue dolphin, landed one king. At the end of the evening, while pulling rods took a HUGE hit on a rigger in 80' of water 71' down on blue and chrome SD with poofster fly. After a long fight we finally got him in the boat. 25 lb king! Biggest fish of my career thus far!
