  1. Hey Guys, Another west side guy itching to get the lund out and was wondering how much rain you guys got over the past couple of days on the east side of state and if the river had cleaned up a little bit. Thinkin of coming over for the day and was hopeful could get at least a conditions report. As my luck normally goes it sounded like the past week or two guys were catching lots of fish and lots of undersize but fun non the less. Appreciate any input and thanks to all for taking the time to put info on this site as it helps out alot. Hoping the bay heats up this spring/summer as it seems like it is due to turn on as the past couple years seemed slow. thanks
  2. Sounds like guys are still doing well in spots in the inner bay but wanted to share a report from the Caseville area and out front of Hat Point. First time ever staying over in the thumb this past weekend and had a great time. Launched out of Caseville on Friday am and Port Austin on Saturday. Ended up catching our fish mostly out front if not a bit north and east of Hat Point both days in 30 to 35 fow. Most boats both days were outside of us. Ran all 2 oz inlines from 30 down on outside to 50 down on inside rod. Purple and blue northland blades #4 colorado's were fantastic and the pink spiderweb from Frank's was great too. Speed was 1.3 to 1.5 and was real impressed with the quality of the fish. All between 18 and 23 inches and great eaters. Nice to fish east side of the bay for a change and would like to go back and even venture around the point to check out the Grindstone city area sometime too.
  3. Turbotwist, Nice basket indeed and well done. Bringing my family over from the West side for a long weekend starting tomorrow. They sell hamburgs in Caseville, don't they?? Thanks for the information and hope to put a few in the box myself. KRIS
  4. Guys, Sounds like many areas of the bay are producing good numbers which is a very welcome sign as last couple years seemed a bit slower. Great job and enjoy some of the best filets our great lakes have to offer. Heading over to the bay tomorrow for the week to hopefully get some freezer meat myself. Well done and enjoy your week. KRIS
  5. Priority 1 and Kitchen, Thanks for the information on the charities. My plan is to fish the north and south points in Au Gres. I assume the nets are still up near south point? Appreciate the posts and look forward to a day on the bay. KRIS
  6. Wanted to follow up on this post from Peelee Island and just say what an amazing week we had fishing out by the Island. Had tremendous fishing around Chickanille(sorry for spelling) reef and even a bit further north and east. Spent 5 of 7 days in this area and pulled 3 and 4 man limits all days. Best luck in 26 to 33 fow but found fish just about everywhere. Pulled all meat and had great luck with the berkley blades by northland in the blue and purple and orangish/gold and sunshine colors all number 4 colorado's. Also had great luck with pink, anti-freeze and some of the spiderweb pattern blades from Frank's great outdoors from Linwood. Used all 1oz inlines and outside lines down 20ft and back 130ish after board, middle 23 to 25 down and back 95ish after board and inside down 28ft and back 65ish after board. Again spent most of the time in 26 to 33 fow and rarely had all 6 lines in the water. Still amazed at how those big walleye actually take the board under the water not just back. Magical fishery for sure. KRIS
  7. First of all a big thanks to all the guys who throw the updates and posts on this site as it has proved extremely helpful especially as we come over from the west side of the state. Sounds like fish are in and around and outside both points, but wondered if anyone has ventured out to the Charities and had any luck. Appreciate any reports as I am headed over for a day trip on Friday. Thanks, Kris Lesley
