Thanks for the report!
Great Job Mark- we found some nice kings in the 75-85fow so looks like they are still scattered with all that cold water.

Good Job on the Silver Fish!!

Thanks guys- I hope to find them tomorrow night.

Has anyone found the fish out of Muskegon lately? Last trip Monday night ran North to Duck Lake and picked up a 16lb king and a 10lb steelhead in 3 hours of trolling 90-110fow. Not complaining:no: Previous 2 trips similar results, slow-slow and more slow. Seen a lot of boats straight out from the peir in 75-120fow but nobody talking on radio. Going back out Thursday-Sunday. Hope to have some good news to report.

Nice Job Mark! Great job when fishing has been tough.

Thanks for the report- sounds like you made the right move:thumb:

Lots of boats out yesterday- mostly north. We fished from 6:30- 9:30 Best water was 100' We finished with 6 nice kings all around 8-12lbs. Our speed was slow 2.2 at ball. We found our fish just out in front of duck lake. Some days it seems you cant buy a bite. I doubt you did anything wrong- just weren't into the fish. Everyone here has those days.

Thanks for the report Matt

Took the wife and her friend out for an evening troll on the big lake only to be greeted with 3-5' mixed waves. Not much fun, but did motor out to 100fow and rode waves in. Not much action, but really couldn't get any real program going. Did manage 2 steelies and 1 king. Sliders still seem to produce fish for us. Heard a few guys catching big fish out in the 160fow 65down- ??
7color with Silverado Imposter took 10lb steelhead 75fow
Free slider with rigger parked 55down Silver Streak Wolverine took 6lb Steelhead 68fow
Free Slider with Mongolian Beef rigger parked 50down took 4lb king 65fow
All hits came between 8:45 and 9:15pm
I have had Imposture Lures for 3 years now and was all but ready to give up on them, but in the last 2 weeks they have been on fire- lead core only! Anyone else run them? Nothing hits them on a rigger.

Ok guys fishing the dreamweaver tomorrow, here it goes.
Fished the am in 80-100fow straight out in front of peirheads. Finished 8-12 with 5 kings, 2 steelheads, and 1 laker.
Here is what worked:
Lemon ice 2 fish both kings
Meat - 1 stealie/ 1 king
NBK Mag 3 kings
Bloody Nose 1 king, 1 laker
I did not use any of the lures from the tournament bag as I did not wish to lose any. 2 kings just over 15lbs. Many stealhead caught by others fishing this am- storm ran us off at 10:00 Good luck to those who make it out tomorrow. No best troll- sog 3.2 no temp prob.

I agree with Don,
listen for me on the radio- I get excited everytime we catch a fish. All I hope for is a comfortable ride with my friends, enjoying the awsome lake and if we catch a few fish well heck that's a bonus for me. I will drop a post tomorrow afternoon from the morning fishing as we will be out at 5am tomorrow.

I usually start with 20lb 30' flourocarbon leaders and cut back when needed an replace when under 10'.

Thanks for the report, hopefully we will be fishing Holland for the first time sunday weather permitting.

Ken,
We have been concistantly catching the fish 4 miles north of the peirheads. Fish have been working their way out deeper. Will be out this weekend providing Mother Nature doesnt run us off the water. Dreamweaver Tournament Saturday- We will be sharing all info on 72, it's a great tournament and everyone who competes in this tournament is already a winner for their support.

Bill,
I currently use the MOOR Subtroll and think it's great- a little bother with coated cable but analog display is nice. I used the fish hawk fx4 last year and liked that product as well. The other product you may like is the fish hawk TD which is about $150 and attaches to either your DR or Fishing line and will give you depth and temp, no speed. I have this on my boat as well and like it for giving me running depths of lures- also nice for dipsy's. Always willing to help.

Thanks for the report Jeff,
I had the same problem last night in Muskegon. Lost 5 fish- let my wife bring in 2 to keep skunk off boat. Some Nights are just that way- hey you found the fish!!! Great Job and best of luck.

Ran north out of muskegon 4 miles and set lines in 60fow, was all alone as most seemed to have stayed around peirheads and deeper 90-120fow. Trolled for 3 hours staying in 70-75fow. Water temp still 42 25' down. Fishing was hot for us, but unfortunately I seemed to have forgotten how to bring the fish into the boat. I lost 5 fish, having them spit the lure at the back 50' from boat. I had enough and refused to take another rod:mad: Thanks to my wonderful wife we keep the skunk off the boat having her land 2 fish:grin: Ya, she schooled me! 2.25 at ball
Free sliders with ball down 55 took 3 hits and 1 fish. Mag NBK
7color sponge bob (Imposter- new that day) took 3 hits,
lost all 3 fish, spitting lures at us at back of boat.
5color MS Double Trouble 1 fish Mostly smaller fish last night- big ones probably much deeper:confused:
-
Bill,
Anytime!
-
Bill,
I was in 50fow and was hooking up with several nice kings! I'm glad to hear you boxed a nice king.
-
Don,
Heck of great job! Boy some of those fish look big! Must have had some sore forearms reeling in all those fish.

Armstrong's is more than disorganized but they have most things in abundance- was there just at lunch as my office is in Montague. Johnson's in Montague has herring- heck of a nice guy to deal with.
