  1. We ran 2 trips yesterday and there were lots of good sized Coho and Steelhead from 150 to 300 fow, 30-95 down caught fish. Coppers, cores, divers, and riggers all took their share. Most of the fish were packed with all sized baitfish.
  2. We have been running the alewive whole brined with the fire brine and they have been working good.
  3. The top two browns we got within hours of each other on a southern Lake Michigan pier back in 05. Both fish were caught on magnum sized alewife, the top one (22lbs) was caught on a float, the bottom one (15lbs) was taken fishing on the bottom. The bottom one I caught in the Betsie River just before daylight, the picture turned out crappy but this was my largest. I should have taken some measurements before releasing it, we guessed somewhere in the mid twenties. This fish was caught float fishing with a small roe bag back in 03.
  4. I'm not sure if you got my message but there was a mixed bag of fish out in 220+, not many big kings though.
  5. You mean like this? http://www.michigansportsman.com/ A week or two ago there was another laker on there with some kind of meat hook rammed through the gills. http://www.michigansportsman.com/2010/Apr_May_June/4.1.10_Manistee_Mammoth_Mud_Chicken.jpg It seems to me if you are going to release a fish you should atleast try to keep in in good enough shape so it will live. Weighing it by the gill plate is probably not a good idea. By the way, good looking fish!
  6. Warmer water? The beach temps have been in the high 40s to low 50s for a month now.
  7. We had some good days on the Lake last year, but the day I remember most was in the river. We were bobber fishing kings in the lower end of a river in Michigan. A buddy and I show up mid-day and end up landing 35 kings in just over 2 hours, missed a decent number of bites as well. The other four guys around us hooked 5 all day. The thing I remember most was the kid that was with them saying "Daddy look he hooked one on his first cast" then a couple seconds later "daddy they both have fish on". I think this one was from that day
  8. The recieve the report from a baitshop around town here, he is known for stretching reports for business.
  9. These reports always make it sound like its the peak of the run, I would never go by these reports. The water is p!ss warm and there are not that many fish down there, even less that are biting. Either someone is trying to gain business, or the person that gives these reports should have their head examined.
  10. How old are these reports? They started catching them below custer about a month ago.
  11. I was going to say the same thing, looks like spots on the tops and bottoms of the tails. Nice catch though.
