  1. Prior to this week, there were Coho in 325 to 350 FOW and Steelhead were there too. I haven't been out for about 1 week but on Tuesday last week we took 12 fish in that area. Been a little rough since then but will be out a couple of days this weekend. Possibly Friday and Sunday. Try to raise the SilverKing on 68 if I am out will respond.

How deep does it get out there?

  2. I'm a little confused.

How many copper setups do you have & what lengths are they?

How many boards are you running on a side?

How much spacing are you giving them?

What other lines are you running?

Are you tangling or just paranoid?

The entire front of the board can come out of the water. That's fine. As long as its pulls off to the side and doesn't tangle with the other lines. That's all I care about. That and occasionally a fish is caught.

  3. Hattrick... Although I like the product and it has done well for me... it is way to expensive. 8.99 or more for 6 pieces is over kill. We have went to cutting our own for a 3rd of the price.

Do you get a discount for buying in bulk' date=' assuming you run alot of it as a charter captain you must have too. 6-9 rods is expensive to refill with a hot bite![/quote']

where do you get your herring from to cut up?

  4. The old dual rod holders(non trees) they used to make I thought were kinda tough to move and the positions weren't in the right spots. I went and talked to the guy at the show and played with the ones they had there. They were night & day difference compared to mine. They were so much better.

I bought a pair of poor mans rod trees this year from mad docks and the swivel base was a huge let down. There is a lot of slop in it. So, I think these fish-on's are the best deal out there.

  5. If you follow the temp breaks in the attached screenshot, that's usually the best place to find fish. I highlighted the tight lines in yellow... those are drastic temp differences. Those tight lines slowly move offshore. Typically in June you can find that break out in 300+ and the steelhead will be there.

Once the lake sets up and we get some thermoclines its a different ball game. Until then, if you follow the surface breaks, you typically find fish.

Great post. Thanks for the info.

  6. Please keep the cardboard in the jar full of fuel and let me know what happens. I dropped one in last year and haven't seen it yet. I pulled the tank and emptied it. I removed the fuel sensor/float and looked in there. I couldn't find it. I was always taught to have a spare 5 gallon external tank on board at all times. So, with that and a spare filter. I feel like I've got nothing to worry about but, I still worry though. I would love to know what happens to that cardboard in the jar.
