  1. Just looking for some advise on where to locate my RL in relation to my bimini supports. I will be running boards of the uprights and am curious if they will be a pain to access if I mount it to far back. Since the pic was taken I have added a 4ft track that starts at the white step pad forward of my riggers. My original plan was to custom order the RL to fit my track, but upon arrival. I have just a regular mounting plate to work with. My new plan is to remove the step pad and slide my tracks forward a bit to accommodate the 5x5 mounting plate and butt it up to my track. Any of you see any problem with this set up? Should I lean towards mounting it closer to the bow or closer to the stern. I may have 8 or so inches either way? Thanks for any advice.

  2. Well everything went as planned, but no fish to speak of. We ended up getting chased off the harbor by lightinng:eek: The boat ran like a champ which was the most important thing to me. We ended up running four rods for about two hours in the morning or so. I stayed real busy playing with my new Humminbird:thumb: There were only a handfull out on Monday which made it easy for me to stay away from the crowd and practice turns and learn throttle control. No tangles either , even though I had my dipseys running on the wrong side for a while:lol:

  3. To say I am excited is an understatement. Its been almost 2 months since buying our Starcraft and I finally have her ready, I hope. Monday morning I will be heading out with my Father , oldest son (9) and two of my good buddies, one of which is a GL virgin. Milwaukee weather looks good, NOAA is forcasting 2-4ftrs which may keep us near the harbor along with everyone else.:( Its going to be a great feeling to have three generations on the boat. I want to thank everyone on this site that has answering my questions and provided feedback. Personally would like to thank Jim for taking the time to show what he has been doing to put all those fish in his boat this year:thumb: He's a great guy. Hope to post some pics and stories mid week, If not I will tell you how the boat ride was:lol: Thanks again!!!!!

  4. I will second NBK and also recommend Bloody Nose all stingray size, in fact I like NBK so much Im thinking about tatooing it on my arm:thumb: I already have a Dardevle on one arm so why not a NBK on the other!!!!!

  5. I have to agree with Nick. If you can get half of what you paid your doing pretty good. i just recently sold most of my musky fishing gear to fund my new found salmon sickness. The biggest pain was listing all the stuff on C list and other websites. Take good pictures and be prepared to be entertained with lowball offers from people thinking you just need money. I was lucky, and sold most of my gear in lots. Ebay costs alot more to sell stuff on then a few years ago but it gets the most exposure. Factor in more then you think for shipping costs if you go this route.

  6. Frank brings up an issue that might be your problem. The shutter valve might not be there anymore and you may be getting back flow.

Have you ever over heated your boat???

Thats the thing!!! I havent had it out yet:mad: We picked it up for good price and am starting to wonder if the seller knew about it. Anyway my good friend is a boat mechanic and has dialed me in to a few things to look for after I tear it off. If need be I can fly him up here for the weekend to help me and probably save a few bucks in the process. I just hope the airline lets him fly with all the parts:lol:
