I'm going to have my boat docked at Manistee, this is my first year salmon fishing,so I need some advise on timing. My son lives in Florida and I want to have him fly in for a week of fishing, in the spring the weather can be a big factor, and could keep us on the dock. so I'm thinking the summer is the best time to have him come up. Any advise that anyone has would help me out. I only have a 21ft. boat, so weather is the big question. Thanks propman

What size lead core is the best to use,also my reels are not large enough to hold two 100 yard units of lead core. Could a snap weight be used with 100 yards of lead core to get extra depth. thanks propman

Aaron, I looked at Ludington, but could not find a campgrounds on the water with dockage, I not from around the area so I didn't have any luck. So thats why I'm in Manistee. Maybe you no of a campground and dockage in you area for 2012. Thanks for the come back, Ludington is a vary nice area and has a great lake front. Dick Logan

Trying to find out when the fishing starts,so I no when to bring my boat and camping trailer up. need leed time to get everthing set up and look over the area. I'll have to make two trips from So. I am from Southern ILL.,retired,and going to try my luck at Salmon fishing. Most of my fishing has been walleye on LBDN, I will be docking my 20 ft. Cresrtliner sabra at Manistee next year, so if you all could give me any advice on Salmon fishig,I sure could use it.Also looking for a couple of guys to fish with and teach me the ropes.
