  1. Headed out of PS with the first half of my passengers, my son, nephew and brother-in-law at 6pm. Headed on SW troll starting at 80 fow. Plan was to drop them off on the beach at 8. Not much happening so we turned around in 130 and headed E to the cottage. changing up my downriggers when I hear a rod screaming, thought it was the rod I was putting down, but turned out to be the 200 Copper with Silver Horde J plug. Had my son (8) and nephew (4) take turns reeling it in, had a few good jumps. 5lb Steely! the were excited. Ran back into the beach to drop them off, pick up father-in-law. He mixed the message, drove to the dock. So we were done for the night at 8. P.S. Black flies were terrible
  2. Got out for the first time last night, took my 7 year old son and father-in-law. headed out the channel to 60 fow and trolled nw to 120 (and the nets) and came back. ran a 7 rod spread, all dipseys. Not much going for us, but it was great to be out on the water with the boys. Started pulling lines and felt a little tug on the last one, gave it to my son to reel in. It was about a one lb king. Boy was he excited. Dad was hoping for more, but it was fun to see. Better luck next time
  3. I got back into fishing on the big lake last year and didn't want to invest in riggers yet. Worked just fine last year and regularly ran 6 line spread. Not always as simple as riggers but will get the job done
  4. It seemed like a tough bite last night. We went out of PS, trolled 65-110, marked a few, never got a nibble. Talked with a few guys on the dock, they had better luck out in 200 fow
  5. don't have a boat name, but if you ever see a 17.5 Tracker, wave me down, I'll help!
  6. Fished from 7:30 to 10, 90 to 70 ft water. Trolled south to Holland and back. Marked some nice fish near bottom about half way there and got a real nice strike, halfway back to boat it was gone. Made turn and headed on North troll, another strike same result. Picked up one king(8lbs). All were on dipsy, 11 in pearl flasher with bloody nose fly, back 140 in 80fow. Met only flies forever for first time!
  7. OK, I'm new to all this. What's a white paddle? Is that a "fish catcher" or Dodger?
  8. You did betteer than me and I didn't have boat trouble as an excuse. I guess it was my turn to get skunked, 0 for 1, probably a small steely.
  9. Thanks everybody, see u @ Port Sheldon. I'll be out on Mon pm, 17 maroon Tracker 616-498-0402
