Welcome to the site,
-
get a room at Blue Chip Casino. right on the water, I have not stayed there, but have a buddy that stays a couple times a year and talks very highly of it. it is in Michigan City, IN. with the Casino right there you would have plenty to do. it would be less than 30 mins to your other cities.
New Buffalo and St Joe - I don't know much about.
Benton Harbor you want to steer clear of.
-
nice story - its great to get kids involved.

NII DEEP made its way home today. did stop by Port Sheldon on the way home. 7 trucks at the ramp. talked to a couple of guys that just came in, said it was slow today, but limited out on thursday, here we go - get ready to yell--fish on.......
-
I picked up a set of 4 of these from Wallymart and used a spring loaded clamp to hold them after my first night fish I will let you know how they worked.
-
I loved mine - just a net loved them more... so they left me...

I have Digi II - they don't use the bottom as a ref. point, but where you have them set for depth, then you can set a movement up in feet 3,5,7,or 9" and time in seconds that you want it to move up and then return back down.
since these are my first set of riggers, we tried it a couple of times when thing would get slow. things still stayed slow. did not put any fish in the box while this was running.
did not notice any extra drain on the batteries. no extra wear / tear on the riggers.
They can be fun to play tricks on the crew. I did this once when no one was looking and set it up 7' /3 mins. then sat back down. it started it first move and the rod jumped up, my buddy quick grabbed the rod. I was laughing a little....
