I bought the same unit last year. I like it alot, I went with the single beam 200 and wish I would have spent the extra money and picked up the dual.
-
pick up 2 boards, or keep an eye out for the 4 we lost last summer.we have very good results off boards

Good job and thanks for the report. Looks like you might be talking Jon into a walleye trip in his new hometown:)
it won't be long, mid July I should start to have time, When our house sells we plan to move into Vermilion, OH. Nice smaller town that would remind folks from West MI of Pentwater.

you the man Frank - I have to get out on this pond north of my new digs, and give the eyes thing a try....

Picked up my DNR annual permit last week. It's the 4th one I have as it's just easier to grab one for the launches I use most often then to try to remember to have the right change for each one.
Seeing as I've put over $200 in gas through the little boat this year and another couple hundred through the 350, no big deal.
What they should do it charge one launch fee until 9am and after 4pm for those of us that know how to launch a boat and get the @#%$#@ out of the way, then charge a higher fee for the go fast crowd. Or charge them per minute at the dock. No more 15 trips back and forth to get beer and snacky cakes with the boat tied up at the dock.
you hit the mark & a nerve, I normally fish out of PS, but went out of holland , what a pain in da a$$. took 40 mins to launch, go fast & yuppie cruisers retrieved in the launch dock... extra lexus suv just waiting in the way blocking the ramp... won't be back to holland any time soon

NII DEEP tried a night fish, Ryan and I dropped boat in water around 5pm and headed out of Holland. went 1 for 1 in about 150 FOW. took it on a copper, white spoon with black dot - glow.
it hit right around sunset - we pulled lines 10pm.
started in 105 fow worked out to 255 then back in. had plenty of peanuts and soda:grin::grin:
-
you still had a great night, any time on the water is good... the late night tire sucks...
-
thanks for the report - I hope the weekend holds this great weather.
-
GJ - those night trips tend to get blurry on N II Deep as well...

Late Report -
left PS dock 5am
Had a 4 man crew, Al Vandyne, his son Trent, My son Blake (1st Time every out - under pressure from dad;)).
Heavy fog, ran into muck:eek:, did a circle in the bay following someone else:eek: - ok time to just follow the GPS.
did not run in heavy fog. so we putted out to 80 feet SW of pier setup, keep a SW troll, @ 130 fow Dispy took a rip 140 back mag set on 2, Mt Dew Spin Doctor - Green fly. so we wake Blake up to reel it in. it gets off, Blakes not impressed, but has started to smile. Second rip on same dispy. nice 13.3# King. Same time Rigger goes off, 60 down, blake is reeling away, the fish comes up dances on the water and says good - bye to the poor kid. we turnned and headed st. south in the 140-150 range. Dipsy starts on the other side, yellow Spin Doctor with Red spots, gold fly. nice 9lb king Blake gets his first fish - and a full smile.
the rest of the day was between the MT dew spin doctor and a half core running a dirty white boy spoon, 4 lbs to dinks,
releases dinks that were still alive. ended up 9 for 11 to the boat.
here is a pic of the box.

went for a nice ride today - 1st again nobody to go with so I headed out by myself.
in the water 9am waited for the rain to let up, pulled lines 2pm
setup in 70fow worked down to holland out to 110fow.
marked a ton of fish in the 85 to 100 range - no hits
ran two dispys and one rigger.
tried flashers -n- flies white, green, and a yellow/orange-spot.
tied 5 different spoons - nothing.
planning to get out next weekend if the weather is good. Sat. only.
did not sound like anyone was really into the fish today.
-
it was one of the reasons I came home this weekend was to fish.

Good Luck Guys,
I hope the winds stay down, if they do I'll be out with Nailer this weekend.

Hi Matt,
I built 2 sets this past winter for Ken "Nailer" and myself.
they turned out great. used 2" alum tube, went with 36" tall, three tubes, one st-8 out for a dispy, top two angled with offset toward the front, mounted on post w/ pin to allow removal, and spin in for comming into dock. had them welded up, then powder coated.
Material list
24' 2" tube $68 Alro Steel - Grand Rapids
Welding Tig cost $100 + Dirty 30 Busch -
base plates $20 for mine - Ken wanted his on Berts track so he spent a little more.
powder coat $50
Big Jon rubber caps Ken picked up at GR Sport show $???
3 hours of my time machining.
so for less than $250 we have 4 trees.
here is a pic mounted on my boat.
