  1. Has anyone installed Auto stops on the riggers for Big Jon? I did and well I lost a weight last week, I must have crimped the cable sleeves too hard and cut the cable, last week while pulling up the rigger, the Autostop rubber stops got cuaght in the pulley and the rigger never stops pulling up , which snapped the cable right at one of the sleeves.. so anyone crimped without hurting the cable????

  2. We got out on the water about 5:30 pm, st up in 130 FOW and headed North from Just south of the Stick....Had a rigger set, and was setting a dipsey at 110 feet back when it hit hard...30 minutes later it was in the boat, approx 23 pounds Didin't wirgh it our though... got the dipsey in the water again 60 feet back.. it HIT again.... I'm thinking Damn this Orangge Crush is on Fire...

Landed that one another good size King and set the dipsey again, only for for it to get out 100 feet back and hit again... I'm thinking ok Can I get a break here.... meanwhile the rigger prot side is doing NOTHING....so I checke it... Found a Hitch hiker... King so I let him go it was only about 13 inches long... he was so Cute...the action was hot and the Wife was doing a great job Driving.... so yelled out pull the lines she's doing a 180 to get back into the the action, so I did, set the rigger in 85 FOW down 60 feet and in 5 minutes I was heading for that rigger, this fish spooled me in 30 seconds...or less, so I let him he ran out straight off the back , then headed for the boat, Got him to 50 feet left to go and he went under the boat from the side.... Damn that was fun, The wife killed the drives and let him go between the drives and out the back end..., I finally got him in the boat about 35 minutes later.... 7 for seven that day in less then 2 hours on the water, I was too tired and back was too sore... we went in for the night.... It was a great confidence biulder..

  3. Well we've been out 3 times so far and have caught one laker, Going out at the wrong times, trying the mid day bite and it's not going well for us, We're going to trying the morning bite and and the evening bite. I do regret now not installing the fish finder, Not many are bringing back a lot of Fish, Fiend was ouot 8 hours and brought back 3 fish, and even the maniacs of Fishing aren't doing as well as they have in the past.... What are we doing wrong Guys..??????

  4. No Blood No Foul!!!!!!!!!!! I'm staying in my cozy bed this weekend in Swartz Creek Mi. wanted to put the boat in at Ludington..... Nahhhh it's not that important.... Same waves in Manistee are in Ludington.... I am getting a little pissed though.

  5. Mine is back near the Riggers, but is very visible to the Helmwoman, so she can adjust speed at anytime, and now that I'll be driving, I'll have a chance to see how I like it back there, I don't like it near the dash because there's no more room at the dash, this is why I wanted to get the fishfinder mode for the Chartplotter. I love the fish hawk....

  6. Senez, Welcome to the sight, I have been silent lately because I'm pissed... it's going to be May 15th before I can put the boat in, due to the crappy weather, and I haven't even got the chance to get a rigger wet....but, your quote just killed me and made my day...Welcome to the sight and yes, it's addicting and enjoyable Have a great season.

  7. When your looking for PULLING POWER stop talikng about mileage it's a Contradiction in terms....Semi's pull huge weights and pull 6 miles to the gallonif they are lucky...

I have a 1999 Ford F350 with 457,000 miles...Pulling miles too and it gets 12 unloaded and 6 when pulling the boat 20,000 pounds...

Ford makes a great truck and so does Dodge and chevy, but when you bounce up into a diesel.....It's about how much weight your going to be pulling.........Consider how much muscle you'll need, then consider the life span of the deisel your choosing...and If you can.. find a truck with a 7.3 litre, they just don't stop....
