  1. yes u can use live bait... there is a great lil thing bout it in this months woods and water... but i would suggest using a 3/4 hopkins, Sweedish pimple, buckshot, kastmaster, or kastmaster knockoff. best colors are gold and silver........ let it go to the bottom and jig it SLOWLY! about 6" to 1' off bottom.... u will see guys jig fast and they are just snaggin more fish then biters...IF U GET A BITER ( in the MOUTH not just the head or near the mouth BUT IN THE MOUTH!) look at the fish before keeping. If it had scars of being snagged THROW IT BACK! no fish is worth losing ur fishing rights over. start at the coast gaurd station right by the building u will get fish! GL ps the DNR are out there in force! they do not have to see u snag the fish when they look at your fish if they have scars u will get a ticket for snagging so just be smart
  2. once again it was awsome fishing with you jim! the wife had a great time and Thank GOD we didn;t have to go to the ER again...can't wait to get out after them again!
  3. lol they had to cut off my mask because the hook was in it so i went to gander and got some more spoons and a new mask.... big jay will fish hurt, cold, sick, it don't matter... and oh also i got some clear high spped boater glasses also.... don;t wanna lose my right eye!
  4. we caught almost 30 fish with 4 being "legal" in about an hour and a half (we got there about 830 and this happened just after 10) the spoon in my eye was the HOT TICKET! got 2 back to back 3/4oz kastmaster in gold! i wanna get back out tonight if anyone is willing to go the 4 that where kept were given away to other fisherman!
  5. i feel like i went 10 rounds with tito ortiz man my face hurts today
  6. So I went whitefishing tonight with Waterfoul and 1 MAINIAC out to Muskegon. The fish were there and we were really catching them. Then I jerk back and scream "oh my eye!". I had snagged a fish and was going to just hoist it up by the braided line when the hook popped out of the fish and yes... lodged itself in my eye! Lucky for me it "only" got into my eyelid... but two hooks were thru to the barbs. Well waterfoul and jim rushed me out of there (thank you to all of you who helped carry our gear to the car... if any of you are on this site). We bumped into a couple of DNR officers on the way out and the younger one about freaked out!! He was more tramatized than I was!!! Anyway, once we got to Hackley they brought me right into the E-room and set about trying to get this 3/4 oz Castmaster out of my eyelid. So they (waterfoul, couple nurses, doctor, and a cute EMS trainie) are all standing there looking at it wondering how to get it out. Another nurse comes in with... get this... a Leatherman!!! Yes, you read that right. A Leatherman!! I about stand up out of the bed and leave the hospital!!!! Waterfoul almost fell down laughing. "No way are you using a leatherman on me!!" I yell!!! A few minutes later the doctor returns with a really cool looking hand cutter... seems he "borrowed" it from the Operating Room. One good snip and the hook was cut... then he backed out the two hooks that were caught and put 3 stitches in. Time from door to door was maybe a half hour. Nice job by the staff at Hackley, except for the leatherman guy!! Anyway... check it out...
  7. i got your number saved! iam 100% coming but i have to pick my wife up at 6pm so i wont be there till 730ish....
  8. i wil tell ya what i use terrry and if u like we can go somtime what i used yesterday 3/4 oz gold kastmaster on 30lb power pro. i have on hand for use 1 oz silver Hopkins (because no one has gold) and silver Kastmaster spoon... i will be going to gander tonight to get some glow buckshot lures and some Swedish pimples in 3/4 oz why 30lb u say? because when u snag a fish ( and it will happen) it is so much easier to hoist them onto the pier without losing your 5$ spoon! lol ( i don;t have a long net so i just pull them up) i have never fished bait before but from what i have read/just thought about was 6lb main with a glow in the dark slip bobber.... use an ice fishing depth finder to find bottom set your bait 6" to 1' above bottom i have allot for ice tear drops they say glow is the ticket.... i plan on trying the smallest size of Swedish pimple i use for specs and gills though the ice.... put 2-3 wax worms on hooked by the nose (that is the way to do it i guess not threaded but by the nose) and cast about 10-20 ft from the pier ... now if i can figger out a away to do that and jig my spoons i will be set!
