I bought 4 wilderness rods last year 2 7'6'' and 2 8'6'' and for the money they performed just as good as any high rod I have used in the past. I going to pick up 4 more this weekend at the fishing show.

That is true, my wife has picked out some of my best spoons. Like Miami Dolphin, F-N' wiggle and Pink Alwive.

For the money I would go the one that Fish -on bait and tackle is having. Was there yesterday and bought my tickets (they are $25). I went there last year and learned a ton of stuff. It is a small room so alot of one on one Q&A. It is on their website, of who is speaking. It is March 25, and they had some killer deals last year.

My first trip was with a 3 of my dads friends. When I was a wee-lad my years ago. We up with 20 kings in just a few hours, and from that moment is was totally hooked on big lake fishing. And I still get that feeling, I got on that day every time I go out. And I do not think I will ever lose that feeling. And for that I would to thank my Dad and Captain Hector. If any you are up Whitehall way give me a shout on the radio.

Very slick idea. I add squids to my flies for more body, but never thought about the scent angle. Thanks for sharing.

If you are working at the show you will get a parking pass. There are a few nice placesa in Walker which is just 2 to 3 minutes from downtown. Plus there are plenty of place to eat on Alpine Ave.

Thanks for your effort. Are you planning any tournaments this year? You always put on a good show, and I missed them last year.

I ran Brads Cuts this year with no success. But I did some looking in to this and they should be ran behide a flasher, not clean like I did. Fake meat was not effective at all for the people I've fished with. But I'm there is a time for that too.

It took me some time, but this year I add lenght to my leader and they ended up being my better set ups. Whit the 8'' I went to 36 to 40 inches, and 11" I made them 40'' and over. Hope this helps
Good luck in the upp coming season.

I used them last year and they worked great. I ran them on my Braided dipsy set -up. When we go visit my wifes cousins in the spring I'm going to pick up two more for my wire divers.

Like the ideas so far. I would like to put in my 2cents, I have fished events where you weight your best 5, and that seems to me to be the closed and most even playing field. The teams can get a DNR limit. The best scoring idea I have been part of is just straight up weight, no point for fish and no bonus for fish. I lean towards a everyday fishermens side, as far as biggest cooler wins. I have lost and won in the old ways, so it works. But in the end i think the closer you get to leveling to playing field the better. Because most of us weekend warriors do not care if it is a Laker, Steel, or a Brown we are happy to just out fishing, After all thats is what it is all about.
