To catch suspended walleye I use crankas & minnows, but I saw lot of articles how guys use small spoons with minidisks. What is the benefits of this method & when it work better.

PS: Here in Russia on Ladoga lake we don't use spoons at all.

can you tell me difference of water clarity befween clean and muddy ? 4-6 meters (13- 20 ft) its clean or muddy water ?

Here most popular are the copper blanks and I try understand its becasue most fishermans troll less that 30ft or its becasue the water is muddy.

I see that most of spoons have silver blades. what blades do you prefer and why ?

I heard that bright flare can scare fish.

The question was becasue, I think that curved treble hooks has higher landing ratio (compare with round), but im not sure about this.

I have a few questions to ask ya, so I can help you out.

#1- I see you have no down riggers.

#2- Do you use dispey rods?

#3- Do you use lead core?

#4- How deep do you fish?

1. This photo was from walleye fishing depth was around 10-20 feets, so I leave riggers at garage.

Seafood is my favorite. I have always wonderd if it is safe to eat the salmon eggs right out of the fish, or is there some way to prepair the eggs? I eat them at the sushi bar occasinaly and have collected them for bait out of caught fish.

its unsafe. Same as eating fresh salty fish (sushi) without temperature processing.

OK, recipe that I know.

You have caviar in the sack. (that is on the photo) First of all you need separate it from this sack. You should boil water it should be HOT about 60C (maybe little less), put the caviar in the wather and twist sack on the fork, remove it. Then remove all white pieces by wood spoon. They should stick to the wood. Some of my friends use hand for this operation. Then wait few min and put out caviar from the salt water.

Water should be salt heavily. This procedure should be done quickly around 5 min on all operations.

The caviar is ready

First try to do this recipe with little ammount of caviar, becasue you need to find your salt optimum. (time how lond caviar should be in water)

I don't know how keep salt caviar for long-period. Its possible to frozen it, after unfreeze its nearly like fresh.

PS: Don't forget that albumen crashed (I don't know right word, what's happened with it.) if temperature will be hotter that 60-65C.

Speed is not a problem. I control it very strictly. Sometimes Walleye like slow speed about 1.8 MPH and sometimes more that 2.5 HMP

Another question, what do you prefer cabelas lead core or opt-tackle cooper wire ? (I don't know other wire leaders) as I understand cooper wire is more thick.

hundreds of spoons yes I know about this, I have more that hundred wobbles for walleye fishing that's why I did this thread.

I saw holo spoons is there any benefits to use them compare with ordinary spoons ?

Another question regarding reels. I want buy okuma convector reels, but I can't deside whats will be better 30 or 45 size for lead core... 45 looks huge
