  1. Nice fish!  5 to 7:30?  I think it takes me that long to set lines.    I'm hoping to be spending some time in Pentwater the next 3 days.

Get there early if using the public launch, we fished there on a weekend once launched fine but getting boat back on trailer took forever as so many boats waiting to take out, weekdays from now on in pentwater as I’m retired, leave the circus games to the weekend warriors

  2. I brought the net this time.    Got the prop fixed but I'm still having speed issues and it won't plane out.  It makes it hard to run anywhere.  I'll check compression tomorrow.  Now, on to fishing:
Time   FOW Toll Fish Bait Pole
7:42 AM   124 ENE 21# King Blue Jeans 200 Cu
    8:10 AM   132 SW 21# King Kevin's Girlfriend Spin Doctor & Meat 300 Cu
10:05 AM   163 E 18# King Stinky White Leroy paddle & Meat Wire Mag Diver, 1.5 Setting out 170'
11:45 AM   158 SE 10# Laker Dancing Anchovy Spoon Braid Slide Diver w/ring, 3 setting out 150'
12:02 PM   143 SE MISS Kevin's Girlfriend Spin Doctor & Meat 300 Cu
    12:40 PM   140 W 13# Laker Ghost White paddle & Meat Rigger down 90'
    12:53 PM   163 W 17# King Green Haze Paddle & Meat 300 Cu
    12:55 PM   165 W 17# King Kevin's Girlfriend Spin Doctor & Meat 300 Cu

    2 Spoon Hits
    6 Meat Hits
    0 Flasher Fly Hits

The hot bait was the 300 Cu Kevin's Girlfriend Spin Doctor & Meat which went 3 times.  I ran two 300 Cu poles for the last half of the morning and that setup to 4 of the 8 hits.
We started setting lines in 70 FOW and worked as deep as 185 FOW.  I thought this chart did a good show of showing where the hits were and how spaced out they were.  After the two hour-ish lulls we had, we move to more out front of the port and the action improved.  Most of the morning we were a few miles North of the port.

  3. Heard you on the radio this am. Glad to hear you got a good one. Congrats.
We ended up staying in 100-120 and went 2 for 4. Lost a 20lb behind the boat on a low diver out 185. Mirror spin doctor with green dots and mirage fly. Two Others were taken on rigger down 73 on moonshine psycho. One was a shaker and other was 15lb king. First fish 8lb king was on Mountain Dew spin with mirage fly(light white and slight purple. Looks like glow tape in moonshine spoons). Was first hit at 7:15 am. All others were scattered all morning. Last hit was at 10:45.

Going again tomorrow. Good luck all.

  10. Late morning solo trip out of South Haven after I got the kids off to school. Set lines at 1045, fished until 2pm. 300 copper with Mongolian beef RV spoon took 2 kings and lost 2 kings, wire diver with green spindoctor back 120-180 took 3 lakers, rigger down 80 with raptor rv spoon took a king, free slider on the rigger with Jordo took 2 steelhead. Fished 105-120 almost straight out of the pierheads. Direction did not seem to matter. Kings were not huge, biggest was about 15 pounds. Let the trout go, just kept the kings.

It was huge might have been your Tyee 30 lb or more Salmon very accurate scale on e bay klau crane scale 150 lb but it weights a 10 lb test weight at 10 lbs just got mine after using Rapala that underweighted by 1.5 lb I got a 21.4 king on that scale and I can see yours is a lot heavier great fight I’m sure !

  13. We motored Southwest out to 210 ft of water and spun around set lines and trolled back in. We didn't mark a fish until 130 ft of water. We didn't have a hit until 84 feet of water. It was a 8 pound King on a green flounder pounder. The bait was presented about 35 ft down. I heard someone else on the radio who got a king in 60 feet of water. That was the only hit we got tonight. We went into 60 and back out to 90 before pulling lines.

  15. Left the city launch at 6:50 am and proceeded to 130 FOW straight out of the harbor. Turned North  with waves to set lines and Immediately got a rigger bite @ 60 down with a mag Flounder Pounder but didn't hook up. Had a small Lake Trout hit a Spin Doctor (Atomik Chrome Killer)/fly (green) on wire diver 135 back but came off near the boat. Boated a nice laker on the Flounder Pounder down 60 before turning to the South. Took another bigger Laker on the spinny/fly wire diver. 300 copper fired with a good King on a Jager Bomb. No sooner then got that in the boat and the other wirediver with a super slim Get er Done spoon got crushed and bent one of the hooks straight. Nabbed and released another nice Laker on the spin/fly combo. Removed rod from lineup. Took a 20lb. King on the Flounder Pounder before the bite shut down. Pulled lines and ran North a couple miles but only managed one more small Laker (dragger) when reeling in one of the riggers. SOG was all over the place but best down speed was 2.9. Returned to dock at 11:40 am.
