  2. Alot have asked where the Fish Dog name came from. I have a Cholate Lab named "Fisher" I have a buddy, Pete, who always called her Fish Dog. Eventually the name came from the dog to me. When I start selling fishing gear a few years ago, i just seemed fun. The dog in the logo is Fisher my lab who started it all. Many of you have seen her hanging out on the boat with me, she is 8 years old and goes about everywhere I do.

  4. I have been running Raymarine for 1 1/2 years and really like them. The color is incredible, even in full sunlight. I have had a couple small issues with a connector but Raymarine dealt with it perfectly and took care of it with a brand new unit, no charge.

I have the Raymarine DS600X fishfinder and a Raymarine 435i GPS Chartplotter, both are mounted on nice Ram mounts.

I will be upgrading for next season. If anyone is interested shoot me a e-mail or PM.

  5. I have heard from a couple guys so I thought I better make a post about our website being down since last Thursday Oct 5.

We have had a major server issue that caused the shut down:crazy: :angry2:

We have purchased a new server($$$) and have e-mail back now.

The majority of the site has to be reprogrammed due to this issue with the former server company:angry2: :threaten:

Our partner and incredible webmaster, Erik Dalton :wizard:says he should have it rebuilt by the weekend:grin:

As you can imagine rebuilding the entire site is quite a process and having to due it because of someone elses mistake surely is not making him very happy:fie:

Please contact us via e-mail at [email protected] or call me at 517-282-8989 and we will take care of anything you need.

Thanks for the inquiries and we will be up and running again very shortly! :ps-020:

  6. 100% of my spoons get new hooks.

I was running Eagle Claw 777's. This is a 4x straight point treble that with with stand Jaws himself, your cant bend one let along straighten one out.

However, I recenetly switched everything to single hooks. I cant along better hook ups and storage sure is alot easier as well. No one tangled mess in the spoon box, I thin I can fit another 100 in there now!

  7. Yes we do sell electronics, just call any one of us.

If you want to stick with a handheld, I have a Garmin 76 which is a great little unit. I have the full mounted unit on the boat now but I have used that handheld alot. I still bring it when I go out with other poeple and it has never given me any issues.

  8. With your track record on that graph you better see about an extended warranty:D

Dont remind me Darrin. They got to my unit 2 days ago at Raymarine. I talked to the tech who was the one work on it. He said it was still dripping water when he took it out of the box! He didnt even open the casing, just shipped me a new one, next day air and no charge.

  9. I have the DS600x on my boat. Its basically the same unit but with a little bigger screen. I had a few problems early on with the power cord connector. If it was not connected just right it would cause a short and blow out the screen. Raymarine customer service was tremendous in fixing the issue and replaced it with no problems.

  10. I just cant even find the words to comments on this post.

Larry...you are the great Salami chef ever! There is no else who can take a 350 pound file of fatty flesh, turn it into an enjoyable sausage, and enjoy the whole taste quite the way you can. Go ahead and keep serving up that salami the way only you can do.

  11. Minnow,

never never never a problem with Mark and Steve. They are 2 great friends.

    It was an iside joke.

They had a few pops one day and added something wrong, figured it out within a few minutes. It was just one of those "you had to be there" type things.

  12. Ok, I think this one is different than a normal trip.

I would surely rather be out early in the dark for a normal day on the water. The fact that this is a "shakedown" trip, go out in the light.

There are always a few things that dont go perfect on a first trip, much better to handle that in the light. You also have the fact of a couple rookies on board. This leaves you and you alone to handle issues, set rods, etc.

I would head out and have a go at it in the light. Your bound to get on a few which is all you need to get the juices going in a couple rookies.

    Best of luck,

    Dave

  13. I have seen that kind of math at tournaments before.

It did not involve the payout but the total weights. I am sure it was not a planned thing, something about the calculation system they used. I think it was something called "Mark & Steve's Beer Can Calculator"

  14. We knew where they were. The closest bouy was a good 50 yards away from where we were. We also didnt relize the how high up they were. We were in 90 FOW and had riggers down 55 ft when we got tangled, that means those nets were probably about 35 feet off bottom.

It surely was an experience that could have been worse. If we had been in bigger waves it could have gotten ugly or we would have just cut the rigger lines to get free. Luckily we got out loosing about $40 of tackle, it could have been worse loosing 2 rigger balls, terminal tackle, and a $300 speed-n-temp probe. All in all, I would say we got very lucky.

  15. The only thing that went consistent for us was that Habenyaro(sp?) That Hot Pepper name spoon, 4 times on cores.

We got stuck in an Indian net and lost 3 spoons, overall made a big mess! I was sure happy in the calm as we were backing up into the waves with water coming over the back of the boat!

Fishing 6 spoons and 6 rods the rest of thew day left for little adjustment...."hey take off the core and put it on a rigger" got a little boring after about 10 minutes.

    A good time anyway.
