Government promises action on Lake Erie phosphorus pollution

The Canadian federal and Ontario provincial governments plan to crack down on the amount of phosphorus entering Lake Erie – an effort intended to help prevent harmful algae blooms from developing in the lake. The Mackinac Bridge was closed this Sunday due to falling ice. The bridge was closed last Monday and again on Friday as large chunks of ice falling from cables and towers presented a public safety risk.
